Time to say goodbye to the drama, Candiace Dillard Bassett is saying farewell to The Real Housewives of Potomac.
"After six amazing years on The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am thankful for the friendships, personal growth, and moments of reflection that have shaped my journey," Dillard Bassett, 37, shared in a statement to People on Monday, March 25. "With new opportunities and responsibilities ahead, I have decided to step back from RHOP."
Ever since she joined the show in 2018 during season 3, the former Miss United States has also been pursuing a music career. She dropped her first album, Deep Space, in 2021, and then released a deluxe edition in 2022.
Even though she hinted to Bravo viewers that they haven't seen the last of her, the "Drive Back" singer made it clear that this is not a farewell, but simply a "see you later."
In conclusion, Dillard Bassett expressed her gratitude to all the RHOP viewers who have supported her over the years.
She mentioned, "Your constant support has meant everything to me, and I can't wait to embark on new adventures in the future, and most importantly, share them with all of you!"
Dillard Bassett decided to leave the show on her own accord, as reported by People. Her departure marks the end of a season filled with conflicts between her and several other women on the show, notably castmate Robyn Dixon.
In the trailer for the three-part season 8 reunion premiering on Bravo this Sunday, March 31, Dillard Bassett is shown calling Dixon a "loser."
Earlier this year, Dillard Bassett shared exclusively with We about the end of her relationship with Dixon. This was caused by Dixon spreading rumors that Dillard Bassett's husband, Chris Bassett, had been unfaithful.
"It was really painful. It felt like a betrayal, like a deliberate attack on me," Dillard Bassett shared with Us back in January. "I never expected Robyn to hurt me like that. It was a shock."
Bravo has not made any announcements about the cast for the upcoming season. Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Potomac featured Dillard Bassett and Dixon, along with Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Wendy Osefo, Ashley Darby, Mia Thornton, and Nneka Ihim.

Candiace Dillard Bassett's departure from "The Real Housewives of Potomac" marks a significant change in the show's dynamic. As a prominent cast member for six seasons, she brought a unique perspective and fiery personality to the group. Her exit leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. While her absence may disappoint some viewers, it also presents an opportunity for the show to explore new storylines and characters.
Dillard Bassett's decision to leave the show reportedly stems from her desire to focus on her music career and other opportunities. Her departure follows a season filled with conflicts, particularly with castmate Robyn Dixon. The breakdown of their relationship was a major storyline in season 8, and it remains to be seen how the remaining cast members will navigate her absence. Regardless of the reasons behind her departure, Dillard Bassett's exit signals the end of an era for "The Real Housewives of Potomac."
