Bungie acknowledges a Crucible bug in Destiny 2 but delays immediate fixing as players revel in the chaotic experience it brings

Highlights

Bungie is not rushing to fix a bug in Destiny 2 that allows players to use Sparrows in the Multiplex map, as the community is enjoying the chaos.

Bungie is currently not prioritizing the fixing of a Destiny 2 bug that enables players to utilize their Sparrows in a Crucible map. This bug has the potential to disrupt the competitive playlist, but as of now, it will not impact the Trials of Osiris mode. Bungie's decision to delay the bug fix is based on the community's enjoyment and engagement with the glitch. The bug is specifically observable on the Multiplex map, which was introduced in Destiny 2 Season 22.

Destiny 2 has a history of strange bugs and glitches. While some have been game-breaking, others have been enjoyed by players. Typically, Bungie works quickly to fix these disruptive bugs, but occasionally they allow players to embrace the chaos caused by these exploits. For example, in 2021, there was a bug that allowed 12-person raids instead of the usual 6-player Fireteam. Bungie decided to leave this bug in the game as it rejuvenated Destiny 2’s PvE community. Now, they are taking a similar approach with the latest bug in a Destiny 2 PvP map, called Multiplex, which the community is having fun exploiting.

The official Destiny 2 Team account addressed this bug in a tweet. They acknowledged that players can use their Sparrows in the Multiplex map, but clarified that this was not an intentional addition. However, since the PvP community is enjoying the chaos, Bungie has decided to leave this bug in the game for a little longer. Many players have praised this decision and have even suggested that Bungie implement a permanent mode allowing the use of Sparrows in PvP.

One problem that players may encounter with this bug is in Destiny 2's competitive playlist. If the Multiplex map is selected, it can negatively impact the overall experience of the mode. However, this bug will not affect the Trials of Osiris mode in Destiny 2. This is because the Multiplex map is still new and will not be included in the Trials playlist for a while. However, players can still take advantage of this bug in the Iron Banner mode, which is currently active in the game.

In addition to this, Bungie has hinted at some significant changes coming with Destiny 2 The Final Shape DLC. One of the most notable changes is the potential nerf to the Well of Radiance Warlock Super ability. Game director Joe Blackburn has already provided hints about this.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
