Destiny 2's Defiant Engrams: What Happens After Season 20?

Bungie has recently issued a statement regarding the status of Defiant Engrams in Destiny 2, just before the commencement of Season 21. Introduced in Season 20, aptly titled Season of Defiance, Defiant Engrams are an exceptional type of engram that can be acquired by completing various in-game activities. These engrams can then be utilized by players to obtain a variety of rewards throughout the season.

One of the most significant rewards that can be obtained using Defiant Engrams is Destiny 2's best weapons from Season of Defiance. While players may need to dedicate a significant amount of time to be able to claim these items, they can do so in three ways. The first method is by completing Defiant Battlegrounds, while the second method is by increasing the War Table reputation. The most effective approach is the third, where Defiant Engrams can be focused at the H.E.L.M. War Table for weapons or armor. However, with Season 20 coming to a close, fans are left wondering if the Defiant Engrams will disappear as well.

As per a Bungie representative on its forums, it has been confirmed that War Table Engrams in Destiny 2 will not disappear after the current season ends. Although there was initial confusion among gamers due to the announcement stating that Tower and H.E.L.M. vendors will be reset with the launch of Season 21, Bungie's forums have clarified that the engrams will still be accessible. Some players had suggested that an official announcement should be made on Twitter or other platforms, as not everyone reads the forums. This news is particularly good for fans who have put in effort to acquire engrams and are still waiting for their desired weapons and armor.

Despite mixed opinions on how Destiny 2's Season of Defiance turned out, fans eagerly anticipated the seasonal rewards and offerings, such as weapons and armor. However, some were left disappointed with the final mission feeling like filler content. As the season comes to a close, player attention has turned to the upcoming Season of the Deep, set to launch on May 23, 2023. With new rewards on offer, players will once again need to grind to earn the latest weapons and armor. While the remaining Defiant Engrams won't be able to purchase rewards for the new season, they will still be available to those looking to start the new season while keeping their hard-earned rewards from the previous one.
