Whitney Port is reevaluating her perspective on and relationship with food after a candid discussion with her husband, Tim Rosenman. The ex-reality TV personality revealed in July 2023 that she has made adjustments to her eating habits following significant weight loss.

"I've received numerous comments about my appearance, specifically being too thin. Initially, it didn't affect me much. I attributed it to others lacking knowledge about my dietary habits," Port shared via her Instagram Story. "However, my husband brought it to my attention, as a caring partner should, and informed me that it's not just random strangers making these remarks. He has genuine concerns about my well-being."

Reflecting on the situation after a month, Port admits to not giving much importance to her diet previously.

“I prioritize nourishment over indulgence. However, upon seeing the number on the scale, I had an epiphany. This is not the outcome I desire. I constantly experience hunger pangs but struggle to determine what to consume. I do not wish to look or feel this way," expressed the former Hills cast member, who is a mother to son Sonny with Rosenman, during her "With Whit" podcast. "My rationale for neglecting self-care when it comes to food is either laziness or being overly selective about taste and quality. I am committed to avoid setting an unhealthy example, so I made a promise to Timmy and now I make that promise to you - my well-being will take precedence."

Port also revisited a past statement where she mentioned consuming "1000 calories" a day. She supplemented by stating, "I distinctly recall the time I saw myself on The Hills in its televised form for the first time. It was a minor shock, and I thought, 'I appear a bit plump and I would like to shed some weight.' This was a form of self-evaluation that is not typically experienced by most people. Being on TV forced me to confront it."

She concluded, "I believe this marked the beginning of a slippery slope of control issues, particularly regarding my physical appearance. It is something I need to pay closer attention to. However, it is important to note that this doesn't necessarily pertain to my weight." Keep reading to find out Port's candid remarks on her intricate connection with food.

Learning About Herself

Port shared her thoughts on her weight and attractiveness in a July 2023 Instagram post. She emphasized the importance of defining her own idea of attractiveness and determining whether those standards align with her overall health. Port acknowledged the ongoing process of self-reflection as the crucial initial step towards making positive changes.

Surprising Food Revelations

In a podcast episode in August 2023, Post candidly revealed her unfamiliarity with pasta, stating, "I have never actually tasted pasta, but it is not due to concerns about nutrition or potential weight gain. It boils down to my personal preference for certain textures."

Post went on to say that she hasn’t worried about her diet amid attempts to address her weight loss.

Coming to a Realization

"I have been eating poorly while on vacation, indulging in calorie-rich foods like pizza, ice cream, and french fries. However, once I return home, I am determined to adopt a more mindful approach to my diet. I want to nourish my body with the right foods and focus on building muscle through my workouts. I am fully committed to making this change. Thank you all for your concern, love, and support. I appreciate the restraint you have shown by not judging me but instead offering your understanding. This community means a lot to me."

"I feel like I often express a lot of dissatisfaction with my own lack of energy on this platform, and I believe that stems from not fulfilling my own needs," voiced Port during her podcast in August 2023. "There's a constant influx of messages, both from wonderful and considerate individuals like [listeners] who express concern and those closest to me who have been meaning to discuss it with me. It's all incredibly touching and aligns perfectly with my purpose here – to share what's truly happening. However, I also don't want people to unnecessarily worry about me because I don't perceive the issue to be as significant as it might appear."

Making Progress

In August 2023, Port took to social media to document her trip to Baskin Robbins.

"I returned to LA solely to indulge in my favorite delicacies at yet another strip mall," she shared on her Instagram Story at the time. "Clearly, I am actively striving to comprehend my dynamic with food in order to become the epitome of good health. My ultimate goal is to nurture my body and cultivate strength in my bones. I am wholeheartedly dedicated to prioritizing my personal well-being."
