Whitney Port discussed the issue of her weight following her husband, Tim Rosenman, expressing his concerns about her well-being.
"I've received numerous comments about appearing too thin," the 38-year-old former Hills star shared on her Instagram Story on Monday, July 24. "Initially, it didn't affect me. I attributed it to people being unaware of my dietary habits. However, Timmy brought it up, as any good husband would, and highlighted that it's not only strangers speculating. He has been genuinely concerned about my health."
Port revealed that she had needed to devote a considerable amount of time to unravel the events that had been occurring, as she had not been actively conscious of her own physical state. She elaborated on her perspective, asserting that her primary objective in eating was solely to sustain her existence, rather than indulging in the process itself. However, upon weighing herself, she experienced a sudden realization. While she did not actively seek to obtain a particular physique, she consistently found herself plagued by hunger, yet uncertain about what to consume. This was not the desired state she wished to attain in terms of her appearance or her well-being. Port listed her reasons for this state, citing her tendency to prioritize other matters over nourishing herself due to laziness, as well as her excessively particular taste and quality preferences.
Port expressed her dissatisfaction with her current situation, deeming it as "unacceptable". She intends to make a change for herself and her family. In order to set a positive example, she assured her son Timmy and others that her health will be a top priority. Port and Rosenman, both 46 years old, got married in November 2015 after dating for three years. They became parents in July 2017 with the arrival of their son Sonny, who is now 5 years old.
In 2021, Port shared the heartbreaking news of her pregnancy loss via Instagram, stating, "I'm deeply saddened to share that, as some of you may have seen on our latest YouTube episode, we have experienced the loss of our baby." Despite the pain, she acknowledged that she couldn't find the right words to express her emotions, adding, "...I don't want to diminish the gravity of the situation, but on a positive note, I am no longer enduring the physical discomfort."

Days later, Port expressed her pride in her body following her miscarriage. She shared a bikini selfie on Instagram and questioned whether it could be considered a thirst trap, considering she is a mother. She emphasized the importance of women being proud of their bodies and acknowledged the challenges they face.
Port had previously discussed experiencing two miscarriages within a span of two years. In July 2019, she took to Instagram to reveal that her identity as a mother and human being had been deeply impacted by these losses. She emphasized the ongoing process of accepting the validity of her emotions, regardless of how others may feel, as they are a reflection of her personal journey.
Less than two years later, Port informed her followers that she and Rosenman experienced another pregnancy loss. In January 2021, she shared on Instagram, "Timmy and I debated whether or not we should share this news. I was unsure if I wanted to relive the pain. However, my feelings towards the situation have changed this time around."
Recently, Port revealed exclusively to We that she and Rosenman are seriously considering surrogacy after their miscarriages. She stated, "I'm still sorting things out, and nothing is set in stone yet. It's one of those situations where you're hesitant to make it public until you have clarity." She added, "But for me, I've faced secondary infertility, and the journey to our second child has been physically and mentally challenging."
