Xur has made a return to Destiny 2, offering players a limited-time opportunity to explore new exotic and legendary gear. One of the exotics, the Season of the Deep scout rifle Wicked Implement, will soon receive several buffs. Bungie confirmed in their recent blog post that they have listened to fan feedback and have plans to enhance the gun, particularly by adjusting the timing window for its exotic perk, Creeping Attrition.
Fans who have already acquired the weapon will be pleased with these upcoming buffs. However, those who have yet to unlock it may continue to face some difficulties. Players have recently observed that matchmaking for Deep Dive missions has become more chaotic and confusing than before. This disparity arises from players being at different stages or having different objectives, given the multitude of tasks that can be completed during these activities. Consequently, many players are pursuing their own agendas, often bypassing areas that others need to access for their own progress.
Where is Xur?
Xur Returns to Destiny 2: Find His Location, Exotic Cipher Quest, and Gear Review for July 14, 2023 WeekendThis weekend, players should be heading to the Winding Cove in the EDZ.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
To swiftly reach the Winding Cove zone, hasten towards the back area where the Fallen generally patrol. Ascend the cliffs in this vicinity and there you will discover Xur poised on a ledge, fairly close to a wrecked ship.
Xur still fulfills his role by providing the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear offerings. These quests are essential for purchasing a second fated engram and obtaining legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by successfully completing strikes and emerging victorious in crucible or gambit matches. Extra points can be gained by playing alongside clan mates or tackling more challenging activities.
In addition to his regular exotic gear, Xur has expanded his offerings to include Legendary Weapons and Armor. These items can be purchased using Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Crown of Tempests - Warlock helmet
Exotic Perk:
Conduction Tines - This helmet enhances the recharge rate of your Arc abilities and prolongs the duration of Stormtrance by increasing the effectiveness of arc ability final blows.
Arc Warlocks should definitely have this helmet in their possession, especially when utilizing the Stormtrance super. The ability to decrease ability cooldowns and extend the duration of the super is incredibly valuable. It is definitely worth acquiring this week for those who may not already have it, even if the stat roll is not optimal.
Stat Values (66 Total):
Mobility +19
Resilience +6
Recovery +8
Discipline +2
Intellect +15
Strength +15
Fr0st-EE5 - Hunter leg armor
Exotic Perk:
Rapid Cooldown - Enhances the regeneration of grenades, melee attacks, and dodges while sprinting. Dodging also increases your sprint speed.
The "Frosties" are a reliable exotic option for Hunters, although not particularly exceptional. They are compatible with any subclass and assist in reducing the cooldowns of abilities, while also providing a speed boost after a dodge, which is advantageous in various situations. While it may not be considered a top-tier exotic, it remains a dependable choice. It boasts the highest roll among its counterparts, making it potentially worth acquiring, if only to replace a lower-quality roll.
Stat Values (66 Total):
Mobility +4
Resilience +6
Recovery +25
Discipline +10
Intellect +6
Strength +15
An Insurmountable Skullfort - Titan helmet
Exotic Perk:
Transfusion Matrix allows players to regain health and restore melee energy when they eliminate enemies using arc melee abilities. Although this exotic provides decent survivability, it is only effective with arc subclasses, making it situational. Unfortunately, this week's roll is subpar with an overall rating of only 62, despite having decent balance.
Stat Values (62 total):
Mobility +11
Resilience +11
Recovery +11
Discipline +12
Intellect +2
Strength +15
Exotic Weapon
Vigilance Wing is a one-of-a-kind pulse rifle found in Destiny 2. Setting it apart from conventional pulse rifles, its intrinsic perk, called Hard Truths, bestows upon this weapon a remarkable five-shot burst instead of the usual three. Moreover, wielders of this weapon benefit from instantaneous health regeneration and enhanced movement speed when a nearby ally falls in battle, thanks to the unique attribute Last Stand.
The five shot burst along with the fact that pulse rifles are still a very strong weapon type in Destiny 2 makes this a solid weapon to pick up for those who don't yet have one.
Weapon perks:
Corkscrew Rifling
Alloy Mag
Composite Stock
