Unveiling the Untapped Potential at the Farm in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 players highlight untapped potential for the Farm in the European Dead Zone, envisioning an exciting activity that could have enriched the gameplay experience

The Destiny 2 player community has expressed disappointment in Bungie for not utilizing the Farm in the EDZ as the location for its new fishing activity, instead of scattering it across various planetary locations. Fishing was recently introduced in Destiny 2 as a popular activity during the ongoing Season of the Deep. Prior to the season's launch, a leak had already hinted at the inclusion of fishing in the game. This would have been an opportune moment for Bungie to incorporate fishing into the Farm, given that Season 21 revolves around underwater exploration on Titan. However, fishing spots can be found randomly near bodies of water on other planets as well, requiring players to seek them out. Nonetheless, the community believes that placing the fishing activity at the Farm would have made it more accessible for players.

In a post on the Destiny subreddit, user BusBusy195 highlighted the Farm as an ideal location for fishing due to its dock and lack of public events. This suggestion was well-received by the community. Currently, fishing locations in Destiny 2 are randomly generated on different planets, requiring players to manually check the director. Additionally, if a public event occurs at the fishing location, the activity is disrupted. Players believe that placing fishing at the Farm would solve both these issues and enhance engagement.

Many community members agreed with this suggestion while offering different perspectives. User MNeck mentioned that Bungie would be unlikely to adopt this idea, as it would keep the fishing focus meter active indefinitely and increase the drop rates of Legendary and Exotic fish. Bungie's stance on preventing exploits and maintaining balance in Destiny 2 is clear, ensuring that such issues are addressed promptly.

Despite some players not getting their desired outcomes, many believe that fishing in the game has the potential for a long-lasting future. This is mainly due to the fact that the latest Exotic mission for the Wicked Implement Scout Rifle in Destiny 2 involves Deep Dive and fishing. With upcoming seasons introducing an Exotic quest rotator, it is likely that fishing will become a permanent fixture in Destiny 2. This addition will be highly appreciated by the community as it provides a welcome respite from the monotonous grind present in the game. Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
