Summary
Star Trek Day 2023 will feature special events for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks, but the strikes prevent actors and creatives from participating.
Paramount+ will live stream an exclusive event honoring the legacy of Star Trek, while CBS will launch the highly anticipated series Strange New Worlds on traditional television. Additionally, there will be special screenings of Lower Decks, specifically catered to enthusiastic fans, at select movie theaters. Unfortunately, Star Trek: Prodigy will not be featured during Star Trek Day 2023 due to its cancellation. However, there remains optimism that the show will secure a new streaming platform in the coming future.
Star Trek Day returns in 2023 to commemorate the Star Trek franchise with exciting events highlighting Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, this year's celebration will be different. The traditional in-person gala, complete with a red carpet and live program, cannot be held since the actors and creatives responsible for bringing Star Trek TV shows and movies to life are unable to participate. Instead, Paramount Global has adapted by organizing programs that pay tribute to the series through streaming, broadcast television, and special theatrical fan events.
On Friday, September 8th, Paramount+ announced Star Trek Day 2023. This year's event will feature a special streaming show that celebrates all things Star Trek, the CBS broadcast premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as well as exclusive fan screenings of Star Trek: Lower Decks in movie theaters. Additionally, on September 8th, fans can enter the code STARTREKDAY at the StarTrek.com Shop to enjoy a 25 percent discount sitewide, including curated collections dedicated to Star Trek Day and Star Trek: The Animated Series. Here is the complete schedule for Star Trek Day 2023:

As the flagship series of the Star Trek franchise on Paramount+, Strange New Worlds presents a fantastic opportunity for viewers to get a taste of this popular show on television. Star Trek: Prodigy Is Missing From Star Trek Day
Regrettably, but unsurprisingly, Star Trek: Prodigy will not be featured in Star Trek Day 2023, which is disappointing for fans. The beloved animated series, created by Kevin and Dan Hageman, was unexpectedly canceled by Paramount+ in June. The producers are actively seeking a new streaming platform for the first and second seasons of Star Trek: Prodigy. Paramount+ claims to be the "Home of Star Trek," but this claim will only be accurate once Star Trek: Prodigy is reinstated and integrated into the rest of the franchise. Despite this setback, the Hagemans express confidence, stating that they are "99% certain" that Prodigy will soon find a new streaming home. As for when Star Trek: Prodigy will once again be included in Star Trek Day, it remains uncertain.
