Jerry O’Connell is still upset by comments made by John Stamos about his wife, Rebecca Romijn, in his memoir "If You Would Have Told Me." During a recent interview with TMZ on Thursday, December 14, O'Connell expressed his feelings about celebrity memoirs in general.
"We live in a time when people want to know everything. I don't think I'll ever write a tell-all. I plan to take some secrets to my grave," he stated. "My family was recently mentioned in a tell-all, and it's a little unsettling. But I suppose people have to make a living. It's just how things go."
O'Connell further explained that "someone my wife was previously married to wrote a book, and we were not informed." Romijn, 51, was married to Stamos, 60, from 1998 to 2005 before marrying O'Connell in 2007.
In Stamos’ memoir, which hit shelves in October, he reflected on the breakdown of his marriage to Romijn.

"Raising Rebecca up, I feel like I'm losing myself," he penned, asserting that Romijn had surrounded herself with "negative influences." "She constantly reminds me that I'm just the TV guy while she's the rising star. ... Somewhere deep inside, I begin to believe it."
Stamos also alleged that Romijn was too preoccupied with her career and new acquaintances to see him "drifting apart."
Following the media attention stirred by the memoir, O'Connell revealed during an appearance on Access Hollywood in October that he and Romijn were caught off guard by the book's contents. When questioned on Thursday about whether celebrities who write memoirs should give advance notice to those they mention, O'Connell pondered about how unremarkable his own memoir would be.
“I haven’t been married before so I can’t really say, but in the unfortunate event that my wife and I split and I decided to write a tell-all, it wouldn’t be very exciting. I mean, we’re older and our lives are pretty mundane. Our kids are rebellious teenagers and we’re just trying to figure out how to handle it. Would anyone even find that interesting or is it just a nightmare?”

He added, "I might have unintentionally mentioned in the upcoming tell-all book that our kids vape. I should probably let my current wife know about it beforehand."
O'Connell, who has twin daughters Charlie and Dolly, 14, with Romijn, previously stated that he and his wife have no interest in reading Stamos' book. During a November appearance on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, O'Connell mentioned that after hearing Stamos' interview on The Howard Stern Show from beginning to end, any curiosity about reading the book vanished. He added that the only aspects they were interested in were discussed and they don't really need to hear about the casting process of famous sitcoms as it does not interest them.

During his appearance on Howard Stern's show in October, Stamos suggested that Romijn "grew apart from him" and confessed that he didn't fully commit to the relationship.
"I didn't put in the effort. I didn't give it my all like I should have," he remembered.
