Jerry O’Connell is relatable to us because he also enjoys embarrassing his kids in front of their friends.
The actor, 50, shared a recent selfie on X and Instagram with his 15-year-old daughter Charlie and a backseat full of teenage boys. He captioned the photo with, “Picked up daughter from school. Offered ride to boy. Five piled in. Fun ride. Daughter mortified.” Jerry then playfully mentioned the boys’ long hair by joking, “I’m growing my hair out.”
Fans had a good laugh at the awkward father-daughter moment and shared their funny reactions in the comment section. One Instagram user praised Jerry for being an "Uber-dad," while another jokingly asked if the boy was just copied and pasted.
Jerry O’Connell and his wife, Rebecca Romijn, are proud parents to twin daughters named Charlie and Dolly. The girls were born a year after the couple got married in 2007. Rebecca, 51, shared a sweet family photo on Instagram in December 2023, wishing Dolly and Charlie a happy 15th birthday and expressing how time flies too quickly.
They often post pictures of their family of four on social media. Recently, Romijn shared some adorable photos of O’Connell with their two kids to celebrate his 50th birthday. She captioned the February 17 Instagram slideshow with, "Happy 50th Bday @mrjerryoc!! We love you so much!!"
Just two days later, O’Connell humorously mentioned that he is fully embracing the role of a volleyball dad. He posted an Instagram selfie of himself and Dolly at one of her sporting events.
O’Connell and Romijn have been having fun embarrassing their kids for a long time. Romijn revealed in an exclusive interview with We in November 2019 that they intentionally use their old family car to drop off their kids at school, believing it's important to make the experience as embarrassing as possible.
In the same month, O’Connell humorously mentioned to Us that he and Romijn were hesitant to break up because they didn’t want to be separated from their kids. He even joked about the possibility of an unusual custody battle.
The following year, while quarantining during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Talk cohost continued to make light-hearted remarks about his children. In March 2020, he tweeted about realizing after four days of isolation that he actually doesn’t enjoy being around his kids.
O'Connell and Romijn are open with their kids about their celebrity status. During a November 2023 interview on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live, O'Connell mentioned that their children, who are 14 years old, are aware of their fame. He emphasized that they no longer hide or restrict information from their kids.

Jerry O’Connell shared on Instagram that Charlie and Dolly asked about John Stamos’ memoir from October 2023. In the book, Stamos compared Rebecca Romijn to "the devil" during their divorce in 2004.
"It can be quite shocking when your kids come out for breakfast and casually mention, 'Hey, mom, your ex has a book out and he called you the devil. What do you think about that?'" O’Connell shared. "They ask, 'Why did he say that about you?' That's when things get intriguing, and it's definitely intriguing. But you know what? We have no secrets."
