"White-Winged Wonder" is a crucial side quest in Final Fantasy 16 as it provides the opportunity for players to unlock the coveted Chocobo mount. This mount allows for swift exploration of Valisthea, surpassing the limitations of traversing solely on foot. Regrettably, the side quest does not immediately become accessible, requiring players to exercise patience before embarking on it.
Fortunately, the quest itself proves to be relatively uncomplicated, demanding only a modest time investment of around ten to fifteen minutes. It does involve a confrontation with a group of hostile poachers, yet players need not fret, especially if they have diligently upgraded Clive's weapons and equipment throughout their progression in the main storyline.
How to Complete The White-Winged Wonder in Final Fantasy 16
"The White-Winged Wonder" becomes accessible during the main story mission "The Gathering Storm" in Final Fantasy 16. To trigger this quest, players must first complete the "Release" sub-mission and then report back to Martha at the Golden Stables in Martha's Rest. Leaving the tavern, players will immediately notice a green quest marker situated near the bridge on their left. They can approach Rowan, a traveling trader, to initiate the quest. It is worth noting that "The White-Winged Wonder" quest marker bears a plus symbol instead of an exclamation mark, indicating its significance as one of the game's most crucial side quests.
Once they have completed their conversation with Rowan, players should proceed across the bridge and follow the designated quest marker until they reach a white feather. Continuing onward, they will come across a pair of deceased poachers before eventually catching up with Whiteheart. Whiteheart and her flock are in a bit of trouble, prompting Clive to intervene and offer assistance. However, players should refrain from utilizing Clive's most powerful Eikonic Abilities at this point. This is because a formidable Huntsman enemy will materialize after the initial wave of adversaries has been vanquished. It is advisable to reserve long cooldown attacks such as Rising Flames specifically for this adversary.
After successfully defeating all the poachers, Clive will make a surprising discovery that the white Chocobo he had encountered is actually Ambrosia, the very same Chocobo that had saved him from danger thirteen years ago at Phoenix Gate. To aid in their future endeavors, Rowan will appear and equip the three birds with saddles, blinders, and bridles. As a token of gratitude, players will be rewarded with Ambrosia's Tack, 60 Sharp Fangs, 287 XP, and 20 Renown. This exciting development allows players to summon Ambrosia in any of the open-world areas in Final Fantasy 16 by simply holding down the R3 button.
Final Fantasy 16 is now exclusively available for the PlayStation 5.
