Usually, after completing the first Spirit Font Battle or Leyline Battle is an appropriate time. While players have the option to challenge the Berserker anytime during Chapter 1 by heading towards Yoshiwara, it is important to note that if they sustain significant damage and retreat, they will have to wait until the next in-game day to try again. Therefore, it is recommended that players save their progress before engaging in the fight with the Berserker. This way, they can reconsider their decision and adequately prepare beforehand, avoiding any potential lockout from the battle if they become overwhelmed.

Normal Attacks

The Rogue Berserker is a formidable force in close-range combat, unleashing a flurry of punches, kicks, grabs, and ground slams. What sets this powerhouse apart is the wind-up it initiates before every attack, giving players the opportunity to anticipate and counter its moves with practice.

When he swings his arms, positioning his right arm behind him and raising his left arm near his head, while rotating his torso to the right, a fierce uppercut is unleashed, propelling rocks into the sky. If Iori is not directly in front of him during this uppercut, players can capitalize on a brief moment of vulnerability immediately afterward. The rocks will descend randomly, marked by crimson circles on the ground, so it is crucial for players to avoid standing within these circles.

When Berserker raises both arms in front of himself and swings them down behind him, he will execute a charging attack. If he successfully runs into Iori, he will grab him and perform a powerful suplex, inflicting a significant amount of damage. To avoid this attack, players should retreat and flank Berserker while he executes his move.

When Berserker retracts his right fist and launches a powerful punch, an explosive wave propels forward. Just like with Berserker's previous attacks, Iori can evade this by sidestepping and staying clear of his direct path. This presents an excellent opportunity for skilled players to perform a flawless dodge and counterattack.

Promptly retreating is crucial for players when Berserker swiftly pulls his right hand backward, as this indicates an imminent grab attempt. If he successfully grabs hold of either Iori or Saber, he will hoist them into the air before forcefully slamming them onto the ground, resulting in a devastating shockwave. In the event that Saber is seized, players must swiftly leap upwards as Berserker hurls Saber down, effectively evading the shockwave's impact.

Berserker has the ability to execute a rapid forward punch using his right arm, followed by a subsequent punch with his left arm, culminating in a powerful backhand strike delivered by his right arm. To evade this combination attack, Iori can effectively dodge backwards or sidestep. Additionally, players have the opportunity to counterattack by flawlessly dodging one of the incoming swings, provided they have acquired the necessary skill.

Deadly Attacks

When the Berserker blazes in a crimson aura and lifts both hands high above his head, he is preparing to unleash his devastating shockwave attack. Players can thwart this attack by utilizing an Affinity strike to momentarily stun him. Failure to do so will result in the Berserker pounding his hands into the ground, generating a powerful shockwave that necessitates evasive leaping. Subsequently, he will execute a second shockwave slam, followed by a final, considerably mightier, slam. It is important to note that the final shockwave extends a much greater distance than its preceding counterparts, thus players must remain vigilant even if they managed to avoid the first two shockwaves.

When Berserker assumes a crouched position, surrounded by a crimson aura, he is priming himself for a forceful charge. As he hurtles towards the player, he leaves a trail of shockwaves in his wake. Being struck by Berserker or these shockwaves inflicts significant damage. He repeats this charging maneuver multiple times, readjusting his direction upon reaching the arena's boundary. However, players can easily evade this attack by maneuvering around his flanks. Additionally, players can disrupt his assault by utilizing Affinity attacks from Saber or employing the Firebird magecraft. It is important to note that performing Link Strikes can stun Berserker; therefore, it is advisable to closely monitor Saber's actions and exploit this opportunity to its fullest advantage.

To defeat Berserker effectively, players must strategically time their attacks to strike him during his vulnerable animation following each attack. In addition, utilizing Saber's abilities will be crucial for cracking open Berserker's Shell gauge and inflicting damage. It is worth noting that Berserker will regenerate his shell when his HP drops to around half, requiring players to once again break the Shell and deplete the remaining HP to conclude the battle.
