Bungie has adjusted the drop rates for Essence of the Oversoul in the Crota's End raid in Destiny 2 to make the grind for the Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle less tedious.

Starting September 19, players will have an enhanced opportunity to obtain Essence of the Oversoul. By defeating Crota and completing all four raid encounters, they will now receive guaranteed drops of Essence. Additionally, the random drop rates from individual raid encounters will be increased. The Master difficulty version of Crota's End and the weekly challenges for the raid will also be made available, further enhancing players' chances of obtaining Essence of the Oversoul.

Bungie has made some exciting announcements regarding the Crota's End raid in Destiny 2. They have revealed changes to the Essence drop rates in the raid, along with the release date for the highly anticipated Master difficulty mode. As the third reprised raid in Destiny 2 Season of the Witch, Crota's End has been eagerly anticipated by players.

Bungie first introduced the idea of reprised raids with Season of the Splicer, bringing back the popular Vault of Glass raid. This was followed by the return of King's Fall, which launched alongside the Destiny 2 The Witch Queen DLC, paving the way for the arrival of Crota's End. In an effort to make the day 1 raid experience even more rewarding, Bungie ensured that players who completed the raid in Contest mode would receive the coveted Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle as a guaranteed drop. However, for those unable to complete the raid in this mode, the process of obtaining the weapon has become more laborious. They now need to collect 20 Essence of the Oversoul, which is a rare drop that adds a tedious grind to acquiring the weapon. To address this concern, Bungie has decided to make adjustments to the drop rates for the Essence of the Oversoul and is also introducing the highly anticipated Master version of the raid.

Bungie's weekly Destiny 2 blog post has brought exciting news. From now on, players can rejoice in the fact that Essence of the Oversoul will be a guaranteed reward for defeating Crota and completing all four raid encounters. Not only that, but every additional full completion of the raid during a week will also grant players a guaranteed Essence. To make things even sweeter, the chance of receiving Essence as a random drop from individual raid encounters has been increased. But the cherry on top is the opportunity for players to obtain all the Essence needed for Necrochasm and its catalyst in just one run, following in the footsteps of Exotic drops from other raids.

In addition to these changes, Bungie will introduce a Master difficulty version of Crota's End in Destiny 2 on September 19. This update will also include weekly challenges for the raid, increasing players' opportunities to obtain more Essence of the Oversoul. To unlock Adept weapons from the raid, players must complete all challenges in Master difficulty, resulting in weapons with two perks in each column.

Furthermore, Bungie announced that starting in Season 23, Legendary Shards in Destiny 2 will be phased out. Alongside this update, Season 23 will bring several PvP changes and additions, such as a new Iron Banner mode and the return of a Crucible map.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
