A Destiny 2 player has discovered a potential bug with the Child of the Old Gods Void Warlock Aspect, which seems to be failing to provide its intended benefits. This revelation has been confirmed by fellow members of the Destiny 2 community, leaving many players confused as to whether this was intentional.
Introduced with the Destiny 2 The Witch Queen DLC, the Void 3.0 subclass was meant to revamp the three Light subclasses. Within this update, three Aspects were added to the Voidwalker Warlock's arsenal: Child of the Old Gods, Chaos Accelerant, and Feed the Void. While the subclass has undergone some adjustments since its launch, it appears that the Child of the Old Gods Aspect is currently not functioning as intended. In theory, this Aspect is supposed to grant players a Void Soul upon casting a Rift, which tracks enemies, drains their life, and weakens them. However, players have noticed that there are additional benefits associated with this Aspect that are not activating as they should.
A Reddit user named i420bootywizard recently discovered a bug in Destiny 2 related to the Child of the Old Gods Aspect. According to their post in the Destiny The Game Subreddit, the Aspect is not providing the expected health or ability regeneration benefits. While the Void Soul should enhance Grenade and Melee Ability regeneration when using a Healing Rift, and the Empowering Rift should offer health regeneration, numerous players have reported that these benefits are not activating for them.
To support their claim, i420bootywizard shared a video demonstrating the bug, along with Reddit threads and links to Bungie forum posts where other users have also mentioned the same issue. The community commended i420bootywizard for their efforts but remained uncertain whether this was an intentional change by Bungie or simply a bug that was not disclosed. In the past, Bungie has made adjustments to Destiny 2 without informing players, so it is possible that this could be another case of an undocumented alteration. However, considering that the Aspect's description still references these benefits, it is more likely that this is a genuine bug.
Warlock mains in Destiny 2 are facing more than just one problem. The Solar 3.0 subclass is also in need of fixing due to a bug with the Celestial Fire melee ability. This bug causes the ability to fail in triggering various weapon and armor perks. Surprisingly, this issue has persisted for almost a year, resulting in frustration among players who have consistently called on Bungie to address it. The list of necessary fixes in the game continues to grow, and it is hoped that the developer will take action soon.
Destiny 2 can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
