The Final Shape expansion, set to launch on February 27, puts an epic conclusion to the Light and Darkness Saga that has spanned almost a decade. This highly anticipated release introduces an array of captivating content and exciting new destinations.

Although not an entirely fresh faction, the Subjugators introduce a captivating twist to combat encounters. Equipped with the power to harness Stasis and Strand, they possess the ability to impede players, potentially slowing them down in exhilarating showdowns.

During the Destiny 2 Final Shape showcase, Bungie unveiled the new Subjugator enemy, a formidable foe with the ability to manipulate the battlefield using darkness powers. The highly anticipated expansion, The Final Shape, was also announced, revealing that it will launch on February 27, following the release pattern of previous expansions like The Witch Queen and Lightfall.

The Light and Darkness Saga, which has been unfolding for nearly a decade, is set to reach its conclusion with Final Shape. This ambitious expansion introduces The Pale Heart, a new area within the Traveler that encompasses players' past experiences, including the original Tower. However, The Witnesses' influence remains present. Furthermore, players will encounter a variety of new adversaries as they venture into The Final Shape.

During the Destiny 2 Final Shape Showcase, Bungie unveiled Subjugators, a new enemy type that players will face. As the Witness strives to maintain control, it will deploy these adversaries against players who possess the power of Stasis and Strand, distinguishable by their armor's color. Bungie emphasizes that Subjugators excel in offering support, usually positioned at the rear of enemy ranks. They employ stasis crystals and peculiar entanglements to further hinder players, potentially impeding their progress and making it easier for enemy forces to overpower them.

The Subjugators may not be the new race players were expecting, but their mastery of darkness abilities and control over the battlefield bring a fresh dynamic to combat encounters. It remains unclear if they will function similarly to the boss-like Tormentors encountered in the Lightfall campaign or if they will appear as elite units, randomly mixing things up.

Fans had long speculated that Destiny 2 would introduce a completely new race called "The Veil" to join the Fallen, Hive, Vex, Taken, and Scorn. This faction was rumored to be inspired by the statue discovered by players beneath the Moon in the Pyramid, characterized by a wispy and ethereal appearance. However, recent seasons have revealed that "The Veil" is not the codename for a secret darkness race but rather a paracausal entity residing beneath Neomuna's surface, serving as the power source for the CloudArk.
