Unprecedented Destiny 2 Showdown: Fellow Guardian Slayed in Epic PvP Encounter with Exotic Weaponry!

A mysterious bug in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep introduces an Exotic weapon that unexpectedly eliminates both allies and enemies, causing chaos among Guardians in PvP matches

A Destiny 2 player successfully eliminated a fellow Guardian while engaging in open-world exploration using the Navigator Exotic Trace Rifle in non-PvP environments. This powerful weapon is acquired through the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon, which was introduced in Destiny 2 Season 21.

Obtaining the Navigator in Destiny 2 can be quite challenging, as many players have voiced complaints about its low drop rate. However, those fortunate enough to acquire it are extremely pleased, as this Strand Exotic grants the wielder and their allies Woven Mail when fired upon. Furthermore, continuous fire at enemies inflicts Sever effects, making it an effective tool in both PvP and PvE activities. Nevertheless, it appears that a glitch allows players to harm fellow guardians with the Navigator in non-PvP situations if fired upon for an extended duration.

User MaximusRight posted a video on the Destiny 2 subreddit, showcasing the "other effects" of the Exotic on teammates. The video featured the Nimbus vendor location on Neomuna, where the weapon's use triggered the Woven Mail perk on a random Guardian in the vicinity. However, when the focus shifted to a neighboring Guardian who was interacting with the vendor, the weapon's sustained fire accidentally killed them.

The community found this situation amusing, as the weapon's ability to harm fellow Guardians in non-PvP environments was unexpected. User Ze_Awesome_Hobo shared a comment suggesting that this might not be a bug, as players could supposedly do the same in Destiny 1 by damaging or killing others in PvE when loading into new zones. If accurate, this issue may not be a high priority for Bungie to address, given its long-standing existence since the previous game. However, if it is indeed a bug, it could potentially disrupt endgame activities such as Grandmaster Nightfalls or Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2, leading to player frustration.

This isn't the first time a bug has been discovered with an Exotic weapon in the game. For example, the Winterbite Exotic glaive, which was introduced in Destiny 2's Lightfall DLC, had a bug that allowed it to rapidly defeat bosses in endgame content. Telesto is another weapon known for its numerous bugs throughout Destiny 2's history. It has caused so many issues that it's difficult to keep track, and there have been reports of it being bugged again after last week's update. However, Bungie has always been quick to address these issues, so it's likely that the Navigator will receive the same attention after further investigation.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
