Destiny 2's Season 22 marks the third season of Year 6, bridging the gap between Lightfall and The Final Shape in terms of its narrative. In the previous season's conclusion, Destiny 2 players discovered that in order to pursue the Witness, assistance from Savathun is crucial. However, before that, Xivu Arath must be confronted and dealt with definitively.
With the introduction of this new season, an array of fresh weapons and armor have been incorporated into the game. To optimize their experience in the new seasonal activities, players should first acquire the new Witch's Key before diving too deep into the grind for the latest loot.
How to Get Witch's Key
What is the Witch's Key Used For?
Obtain the Witch's Key by completing any activity in the game. Similar to the Defiant Key, Deep Dive Key, and Salvage Key, these items have a lower drop rate. However, players are not required to use them in order to progress the seasonal story or obtain loot in both Altars of Summoning and Savathun's Spire. In addition to being obtained as a random drop, the Witch's Key can also be acquired by leveling up the Season Pass (Ranks 2, 12, 52, and 92) and by ranking up with the Ritual Table in the H.E.L.M.For those who have been actively playing Destiny 2 in the recent Seasons, they will be delighted to know that the Witch's Key is very similar (if not identical) to other seasonal currencies of its kind. Just like the Defiant Key and the Deep Dive Key, the Witch's Key is an optional item that empowers players to maximize their experience while engaging in the newly introduced activities of Season 22.
Rewards obtained from looting chests at the end of the Altars of Summoning and Savathun's Spire activities will be greatly enhanced by the Witch's Key, similar to previous Seasons. Unlike Season 21, there will not be separate keys for each activity. This means players only need to focus on obtaining one type of key instead of two. By using a Witch's Key, players can anticipate receiving a substantially higher amount of reputation for the Ritual Table, more offerings, as well as an increased number of Witch's Engrams. These Engrams can be used to eventually unlock crafting for the new seasonal weapons.
Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
