Content: Destiny 2's Guardian Rank progression system may be facing a new problem, and the community is already expressing their concerns online. Bungie's popular live-service FPS has encountered various issues in the past, but player progression has become a significant point of contention, making it a matter of importance for everyone involved.
While the player base remains captivated by Destiny 2's peculiar alien frog, some community members have taken the opportunity to highlight other ongoing problems with the game. Bungie has already made significant changes to the Guardian Rank feature since its release with Lightfall, but it appears that more adjustments may be necessary, according to some community members.
Reddit user ProAssassin84 recently shared their frustrations regarding Destiny 2's Guardian Rank 11. They explained that they were having difficulty obtaining the necessary Commendations to advance. In Destiny 2, Commendations are given out by other players during post-activity roundup. However, lately, ProAssassin84 and others have noticed a decline in players interacting with the Commendation system. This raises concerns about the game's seasonal Guardian Rank progression.
The reliance on resetting progression systems, like Guardian Ranks, is a common issue in live-service games such as Destiny 2. Players are constantly required to grind and improve their rankings or gear scores. However, when the community stops engaging with these systems, it can have a detrimental impact on the game's overall stability.
Bungie added a new Commendation in a previous update called "Best Dressed," which quickly became the most popular one among players due to its distinctive nature. The lack of Commendations being given during the post-activity wrap-up suggests that Bungie may have made a mistake in using Commendations for Guardian Rank progression. Additionally, Destiny 2 still does not have the Lightfall weapons that were advertised, and the community has not forgotten about this issue. Only the featured hand cannon has been distributed as a reward, while the other weapons have been seemingly overlooked. Bungie has yet to address these problems.
Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
