Bungie has revealed in its latest weekly Destiny 2 update that Banshee-44 will receive an update in Season 23, allowing players to focus on select foundry weapons. Destiny 2, as a live service title, consistently evolves and changes each season, with new story content and quality of life sandbox improvements. With Season of the Witch at the halfway mark, Bungie continues to share new details about what fans can expect in the upcoming Season 23.
One notable announcement made by Bungie prior to Season 23 is the adjustment of the in-game economy in Destiny 2. Specifically, Legendary Shards will be completely removed, causing a ripple effect throughout the game as these resources are frequently needed. Ritual weapons, gear focusing, and even the weekend merchant Xur will undergo adjustments, emphasizing glimmer and engrams as primary means of interaction going forward. Nevertheless, Bungie has additional plans to enable players to acquire new weapons from vendors.
In this week's blog post, Bungie unveiled their plans for the Gunsmith Banshee-44 at the Tower. Exciting news for Destiny 2 players as they will soon have the ability to focus on specific foundry weapons. This means they can now obtain their desired perk roll in a more targeted and efficient manner. Initially, Banshee will introduce weapons from Suros, Hakke, Veist, and Omolon from Seasons 16-19, ensuring a variety of options. These weapons will always be at least four seasonal releases old, with Season 24 bringing in weapons from Season 20. It's important to note that these sought-after weapons will no longer be obtainable through Legendary Engrams found in the world loot pool. Instead, players will need to directly acquire them from Banshee himself.
During Season 23, Bungie is making the following weapons able for focusing at Banshee:
Suros
Cantata-57
Syncopation-53
Fugue-55
Staccato-46
Pizzicato-22
Fioritura-59

Please note that Banshee only offers two foundries at a time, with one rotating out daily. For instance, the first day will feature Omolon and Suros, while the second day will showcase Suros and Hakke. On the third day, players can expect to see Hakke and Veist, and the rotation will end on the fourth day with Veist and Omolon. In the future, more foundries may be added, resulting in a constantly changing schedule. Destiny 2 players must have 3 Gunsmith Engrams and a minimum of 5,000 glimmer to focus these weapons, which can be obtained through vendor rank ups and completing lost sectors.
In addition to the economy and weapon adjustments, Bungie has recently revealed the next weapon to receive a catalyst. The upcoming Season 23 will introduce the Thorn hand cannon's catalyst, following the footsteps of the recently catalyst-enhanced Monte Carlo in Season of the Witch. Although obtaining it will require some luck with RNG, unlocking the Thorn catalyst will enhance the weapon's strength with additional stat bonuses and a new effect.
Destiny 2 is currently accessible on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
