How to Get TessellationWhat does Tessellation Do?
To encourage pre-orders, developers often provide incentives such as early access, additional cosmetic items, or beta access. In the case of Destiny 2, players would usually receive cosmetic rewards like emotes and emblems for pre-ordering.
With the release of Lightfall, Destiny 2 players who pre-ordered either the Collector's Edition or the Annual Pass Edition were given an added bonus - early access to a powerful Exotic weapon. The trend continues with The Final Shape, offering Tessellation as an incentive. For players who have pre-ordered either of the mentioned editions, here is how they can claim their own Tessellation.
How to Get Tessellation
In Year 5 of Destiny 2, players who preordered the Collector's Edition or Annual Pass received Quicksilver Storm from Rahool. However, with the release of Season 22, players no longer need to visit Rahool for their preorder bonuses. Instead, there is a new terminal located to the right of Banshee-44. This terminal, called the Special Delivery terminal, is where players can now collect their preorder bonuses and Amazon Prime items. Upon interacting with the terminal, players will be able to see a list of rewards they can claim, including Tessellation for those who pre-ordered The Final Shape. Interestingly, Rahool's Secret Stash has also been moved to the Special Delivery terminal.
What does Tessellation Do?
Tessellation is an extraordinary Fusion Rifle that boasts a one-of-a-kind attribute. Its damage will seamlessly align with the particular subclass adopted by players, be it Arc, Solar, Void, Strand, or Stasis.
Tessellation, although it may not appear significant, offers another utility that proves it to be highly advantageous. By pressing and holding the reload button while possessing a fully charged grenade, Tessellation will consume the grenade, enabling players to activate its alternate firing mode. In this mode, Tessellation releases a bolt that closely resembles a round from a Grenade Launcher, resulting in a substantial explosion capable of wiping out an entire group of enemies.
In exchange for sacrificing a grenade charge, any kills obtained with this weapon increase grenade energy recharge rate. This can be further enhanced by increasing Discipline. As of now, Tessellation does not have a catalyst. However, it is likely that one will be introduced in The Final Shape, similar to how Quicksilver Storm received a catalyst upon the release of Lightfall. This guide will be updated accordingly if a catalyst is added.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
