Destiny 2's Season of the Deep is making waves among players as one of the greatest seasons in the game's history. This is due in part to the nostalgic thrill of exploring the depths of Titan and the highly-praised Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon. The appeal of Ghosts of the Deep is its refreshing approach to encounters, with each one offering a unique mechanic that keeps players on their toes. This sets it apart from Lightfall's Root of Nightmares Raid, which relied on the same mechanic repeatedly. The addition of The Navigator, a powerful Strand trace rifle, further enhances the experience. Obtaining this Exotic weapon is no easy feat, but completing various Triumphs can increase the drop rate. With its one-of-a-kind design and impressive perks, The Navigator is a must-have weapon for any Destiny 2 player.
Destiny 2's The Navigator Opens Many Doors For Strand Buildcrafting
The Navigator boasts two primary Exotic perks - Protective Wave and Weft Cutter. When hitting an ally, Protective Wave grants both the user and the target ally the Woven Mail buff from Destiny 2's Strand subclasses. Meanwhile, Weft Cutter severs enemy targets after sustained fire, which is another one of the various Strand debuffs. These perks work wonders in both PvP and PvE, with Woven Mail reducing incoming damage and Sever reducing the target's damage output. However, players can take things to the next level by utilizing Destiny 2's Artifact Mods in Season of the Deep, which offer a variety of excellent choices for Strand builds that pair well with The Navigator. Improved Unraveling increases the damage dealt with Unraveling Rounds, while Strand Soldier grants Unraveling Rounds whenever Strand players receive the Woven Mail buff. Finally, Conductive Cosmic Needle makes targets affected by Strand debuffs take more damage from Arc and Void abilities. In a group play scenario, these mods alone make The Navigator a top-tier weapon.
Players have the option to combine The Navigator with other Exotics, such as the Cyrtarachne Facade Exotic helm for Hunters, which provides flinch resistance while Woven Mail is active. However, the Cenotaph Mask Exotic for Warlocks, a Season of the Deep Exotic, is a superior choice as it synergizes well with trace rifles by marking targets for ten seconds and dropping ammo for the user and their allies when a finisher is used to kill the marked target. The Navigator's Exotic Catalyst in Destiny 2 also has great synergy with Strand subclasses, allowing players to create a grapple point with a single shot after performing a special reload. Combined with the Thread of Ascent Fragment for Strand, players can instantly reload their weapons whenever they grapple, making it an excellent DPS strategy for both solo and group play. Additionally, The Navigator grants Woven Mail to the user even without hitting an ally with its shots, making it an excellent addition to any Guardian's loadout.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
