Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3 introduces Stagnant Shadow stages, offering enticing rewards for those who conquer the challenging combat trials. Each update for Honkai: Star Rail brings additional combat stages and limited-time events, allowing players to enhance their team compositions.

In the latest version, players will uncover the backstory of Dan Heng and witness his growth as a new five-star character. With the title of "Imbibitor Lunae," Dan Heng becomes one of the first Honkai: Star Rail characters to advance from four stars to five stars. Additionally, the new update introduces Fu Xuan and Lynx as obtainable characters through Event Warps. These new additions can prove valuable in the Stagnant Shadow stages of Version 1.3.

A new blog post on HoYoLab has confirmed the addition of two new Stagnant Shadow stages in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3. These stages can be found in the Scalegorge Waterscape. One of the stages, called Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Abomination, becomes accessible after successfully completing the "Xianzhou Luofu — A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant" story mission. During this stage, players will be pitted against a formidable boss in the form of a powerful great ape. Upon defeating the boss, players will be rewarded with the ascension material "Nail of the Ape." This material can be used to enhance Quantum-type characters like Version 1.3's Fu Xuan and Lynx.

The second new stage in the Stagnant Shadow series, Shape of Puppetry, will unlock in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.3 after completing the "Cavern of Corrosion" mission and unlocking the Artisanship Commission. Upon defeating the boss in this stage, players will receive the Suppressing Edict ascension material, which is essential for ascending Imaginary-type characters. This stage will be particularly beneficial for players who have obtained the five-star version of Dan Heng in the latest update.

It is advisable for Honkai: Star Rail players to enhance their characters, artifacts, and Light Cones before taking on the challenging new Stagnant Shadow stages. While the exact level requirements for the new stages have not been disclosed, it is recommended that players reach at least Equilibrium Level 2 in Honkai: Star Rail in order to access the previous Stagnant Shadow stages.

The Version 1.3 update is scheduled to be released on August 30. As a result, Honkai: Star Rail will undergo approximately five hours of maintenance prior to the update's launch. Thankfully, all players will receive free Stellar Jades as compensation during the maintenance period. These Stellar Jades can be utilized to summon new characters and make preparations for the Stagnant Shadow stages once Version 1.3 becomes active.

Honkai: Star Rail is currently accessible on Android, iOS, and PC platforms. An upcoming PlayStation 5 version is set to be launched in Q4 2023.
