Sushang, a returning character from Honkai Impact 3rd, is a highly sought after 4-star character in Honkai: Star Rail. She follows the Hunt path and excels in boss battles thanks to her high scaling skill values and powerful follow-up attacks. Building her effectively is key to maximizing her potential. Fortunately, Honkai: Star Rail offers numerous great light cone options, including gacha and free-to-play options, that can help players achieve this. Typically, hunt light cones with high ATK values are recommended to enhance her DPS potential. One of the best light cones for Sushang is Only Silence Remains.

Only Silence Remains is a 4-star light cone that can be obtained through gacha. It increases the wearer's ATK by 16%/20%/24%/28%/32% and if there are 2 or fewer enemies on the field, it also increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12%/15%/18%/21%/24%. This relic is highly effective on Sushang, especially in boss fights where additional mobs are not commonly summoned. Not only does it unconditionally increase Sushang's ATK, but it also boosts her Crit Rate if certain conditions are met. Equipping Sushang with the Inert Salsatto Planar Ornament Set becomes easier as this light cone makes it easier to fulfill its condition. There are also multiple other great relic options available for her.

When it comes to dealing damage to a single target, Swordplay is a top choice. Its effect increases the damage dealt by 8%/10%12%/14%/16% with each hit on the same target, stacking up to 5 times. However, if the wearer changes targets, the stack effect will reset. Swordplay is particularly effective in boss battles, and its artwork featuring Sushang makes it a popular option among players. Although it may not be the best choice in battles where the enemy can control the crowd, Swordplay is an excellent 4-star light cone option for players who don't have access to any 5-star options.

The Stellar Sea light cone in Cruising is a fantastic 5-star option that players can obtain and enhance for free through Herta's Store using Herta Bonds. By clearing the Simulated Universe, players can easily obtain these bonds and redeem the Hunt light cone option in the store without hesitation. This light cone significantly increases Sushang's crit rate, particularly when the enemy's HP is below half, and also boosts her ATK for three turns after defeating an enemy. As a result, this light cone is a versatile choice for various types of battles where the previous two 4-star light cones may not perform as well.

Effect: Enhances the wearer's critical damage by 32%/40%/48%/56%/64%. Moreover, if the wearer's basic attack or skill fails to land a critical hit, it will boost their critical rate by 40%/45%/50%/55%/60%.

Sleep Like the Dead is a 5-star light cone option available in the standard banner that enhances the wearer's Crit DMG and provides consistent crits by boosting Crit Rate if no crits have been landed. This effect can only be triggered once every three turns. The weapon shares the same stats as Cruising in the Stellar Sea and has an easily fulfillable condition with a powerful bonus effect. Using it on Sushang can significantly enhance their damage output, but it is worth noting that the F2P option is not far behind in terms of capabilities. Therefore, it is recommended to use this weapon only if players have obtained it through their gacha pulls, and not to specifically aim for it by purchasing it from the store using Undying Embers, as there are other strong 5-star gacha weapon options for different paths that may prove more valuable in comparison.

The In The Night weapon is a popular choice among players for Seele's signature light cone, but it can also be a great option for Sushang in certain situations. By increasing the wearer's crit rate and providing an additional damage buff based on attack type, this weapon can stack up to 6 times and reach a maximum value of 6%/7%/8%/9%/10% crit rate and 8%/10%/12%/14%/16% CRIT DMG for Ultimate attacks.

Although Seele has a higher base Speed value, Sushang's high Speed value as a Hunt character can be further enhanced with the right relics and support team members like Asta's Ultimate. This allows Sushang to easily achieve a speed of 160 and consistently deal high-damage attacks regardless of the battle type or attack used.
