The battleship Edens Zero revolves around the Four Shining Stars, who hold the key to unlocking its true capabilities. In Season 1, the crew set out on a mission to find all four androids and bring them together, leaving fans to wonder about their actual powers. However, in the latest episode of Season 2, titled "The Sword of Edens," viewers finally get a glimpse of what the Shining Stars are truly capable of.
The Element 4, a group of powerful Ether Gearists under Drakken Joe's command, are the Shining Stars' first opponents in battle. With control over all four natural elements, the Element 4 can manipulate them in unimaginable ways. But the narrative is balanced by pitting these elemental beasts against the Four Shining Stars, who are skilled fighters capable of taking on almost any opponent.
Daichi possesses extraordinary powers over Earth element, resembling that of an extraterrestrial being. He can even grow branches within his opponents' bodies, causing excruciating pain from the inside. Given his ability to inflict pain, Daichi naturally leans towards torture and subjugation. Sister, on the other hand, is notorious for her pleasure-seeking antics and sadistic tendencies. Their partnership creates a perfect balance between the two extremes.
Despite initially appearing to be in Daichi's favor as he restrained Sister with his Pain's Tree technique, it was soon revealed that Sister had been in complete control all along. She easily dispelled Daichi's ability and unleashed a barrage of painful attacks on him. Fans were treated to Sister's dominant side as she mercilessly whipped Daichi with unrelenting force.
Homura Vs. Kleene
Homura's fight against Kleene, also known as Sylph of the Wind, proved to be the ultimate test for the new Sword of Edens. Despite only recently taking up the role, Homura displayed impressive fighting prowess, making her battle against Kleene the closest in terms of strength. In World 29, Homura was easily subdued by Kleene's turbulent winds, but in World 30, she was able to cut through the harsh winds with her blades and best Kleene. Although Kleene remains undefeated, it seems that she has finally met her match in Homura. This battle served as a redemption for Homura, who had previously failed in World 29. The final outcome of the battle is crucial for Homura as it will cement her position as one of the Four Shining Stars.
Laguna Husert, also known as the Spirit of Water, is a formidable opponent thanks to his unique ability to turn a person's body into water if they shed tears in front of him. This power allowed him to easily defeat Shiki, Rebecca, and Weisz in battle. However, facing an android like Witch was a different story altogether. Machines do not naturally shed tears, rendering Laguna's Tears Lover ability useless against her. Despite Witch being the most emotional of the Four Shining Stars, her control over multiple types of Ether made her a complete powerhouse, earning her the nickname of Steel Sorceress. As a result, the outcome of the battle was heavily one-sided from the start, and Laguna had little chance of emerging victorious.
In terms of dispositions, Hermit and Fie couldn't be more different from each other, making this matchup an interesting one. Hermit uses her intelligence and cunning to outsmart her opponents, while Fie prefers to keep his distance and use his weapons to his advantage. Despite their differences, both rely heavily on tools and weapons to fight their battles. Hermit hacks into software and programs to access the weapons around her, while Fie relies on his trusty sniper to do the job for him.
.
The initial fight appeared to be fairly matched between the two opponents, but it quickly became evident that Hermit was significantly more skilled than Fie, who was prone to acting impulsively. Utilizing her heat sensors, Hermit was able to pinpoint Fie's location, thereby negating his advantage at long range. Viewers witnessed Hermit's impressive abilities for the first time, proving that physical strength alone is not the only factor in combat.
