Bungie unveiled a brand new PvP map and Relic mode for Crucible in Destiny 2's Season of the Witch. Players can now embark on the captivating story of this season and earn exciting new gear inspired by the Hive enemies.

The Season of the Witch in Destiny 2 centers around the Hive god Xivu Arath, drawing the player's attention once again. Immaru, a Hive ghost, approaches Eris Moon and the player with a proposal to revive the Witch Queen Savathun in order to combat Xivu Arath. Savathun's role becomes crucial in accessing the portal through the Traveler as part of the Witness's plan to bring forth the Final Shape. Alongside engaging in fresh seasonal activities, players can follow a weekly story that brings the Vanguard closer to the intense conflict depicted in Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion. Bungie also puts a renewed emphasis on PvP in Season of the Witch with the introduction of a new map and mode.

During the Destiny 2 Showcase, Bungie revealed new information about Multiplex, the Vex-themed Season of the Witch PvP map. Set in a stabilized Vex network, Multiplex features a retro-style aesthetic. Within the map, the Infinite Forest is being compiled, while several large Vex structures provide cover during intense gunfights. At the heart of Multiplex stands a towering Vex pillar, making it one of the most vibrant areas on the map. Bungie also emphasized that Multiplex offers fewer long sightlines compared to other PvP maps, resulting in frequent close-quarters combat.

In Season of the Witch, Destiny 2 players now have the opportunity to explore the new Multiplex map and experience the exciting Relic mode in Crucible. Relic is a 6v6 party mode where players can defeat their Crucible opponents using relic items obtained from past raids and seasonal activities. These relics include the Aegis shield from the Vault of Glass raid, the Synaptic Spear from Season of the Risen, and the beloved Scythe from Season of the Haunted. To use a relic, players must charge their personal relic energy by defeating opponents using weapons and abilities. Once the relic charge is full, players can acquire a relic from the relic depot located on the PvP map.

These new PvP additions for Destiny 2 mark a promising beginning for the future of the Crucible, especially with the upcoming expansion, The Final Shape. Additionally, fans will be delighted to know that the popular Forsaken's The Citadel map will return in Destiny 2 Season 23. Furthermore, Bungie's newly formed "PvP Strike" team for Destiny 2 will work diligently to consistently introduce new maps and modes to the Crucible.
