Bungie has significantly improved the frustration and grind associated with unlocking the Stasis subclass in Destiny 2. By updating the Exo Stranger's vendor page, players can now purchase Aspects and Fragments, making the process much smoother. Destiny 2 continues to evolve with regular seasonal updates, bringing in new changes and quality of life improvements. Season of the Witch is no exception, offering a plethora of updates, including making it easier for players to obtain many legacy and older Destiny 2 exotic catalysts by reducing the grind.
Season 22 has also made a significant impact on the content introduced in the Beyond Light expansion, which was launched a few years ago. One of the most notable additions from this expansion was the introduction of the Stasis subclass, the game's first darkness based subclass. This subclass grants players the ability to slow, freeze, and shatter their enemies. However, acquiring the subclass, its fragments, and aspects proved to be quite a grind after completing the Beyond Light campaign. Many of these unlocks were time-gated and required players to complete various missions. This often led to a lengthy process for fans to collect everything. However, with the release of Season 22, all of this has changed.
The Season of the Witch patch notes reveal that the Exo Stranger now utilizes the new vendor subclass system, similar to Ikora's refreshed inventory system at the Tower. Previously, players had to complete the Beyond Light campaign to access Stasis and acquire its abilities, grenades, fragments, and aspects. However, this has changed. Now, players can purchase all of these items with glimmer, without any need for patience. The best part is that players can buy as many as they can afford, unlike before when only two fragments could be obtained per week.
Head to the Beyond fast travel waypoint on Europa to find the Exo Stranger if you're interested. However, be prepared for a significant Glimmer cost to acquire everything. Supers will cost you 7,500 Glimmer, class abilities will be 1,000 Glimmer each, and Melee, Jumps, and Grenades will cost 3,000 Glimmer each. But the real expense comes with Stasis Aspects and Fragments, which will set you back 5,000 and 25,000 Glimmer each, respectively.
In addition to unlocking Stasis for all players, Bungie has seemingly strengthened the other darkness subclass, Strand, through new aspects. So far, these new aspects seem quite powerful. Titans, in particular, are gravitating towards Banner of War, which not only boosts melee and sword kills but also provides a healing effect. However, it seems that the Weavewalk aspect for Warlocks has become too overpowering. As a result, Bungie has disabled the new Strand aspect entirely, as many players have reported that it makes the users nearly invincible.
Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
