Destiny 2's Season of the Witch is halfway complete, setting the stage for Season 23 and The Final Shape. These crucial story developments will likely culminate in a final confrontation with Xivu Arath, or perhaps her absence from the expansion altogether. Season of the Witch brought numerous adjustments to both PvE and PvP gameplay, and recently introduced the Festival of the Lost event with exciting new additions. While Destiny 2's previous seasonal events have received mixed reviews, the 2023 edition of Festival of the Lost offers fresh features and improvements that make it more enjoyable and worthwhile, especially with a couple of helpful tips.
Although Destiny 2's Solstice and Guardian Games events didn't receive much attention this year, Festival of the Lost is expected to have a more successful run thanks to Bungie's enhancements. It may even set a higher standard for events in the game. While some players may still have a nostalgic fondness for the now-vaulted Mercury's Infinite Forest, the new Festival of the Lost compensates with the introduction of a new game mode, additional loot, and a unique Memento.

An Effective Loadout to Complete Five Challenges at Once
Players participating in Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost event can now benefit from the Amplified buff provided by the Arc 3.0 subclasses. This buff is activated when players collect Candy in Haunted Sectors, enabling them to move faster and reliably trigger this specific advantage. Armed with this knowledge, players can strategically plan their builds and take advantage of the increased speed to quickly reach the spawn points of the Headless Ones or navigate tricky situations with ease.Similar to other seasonal events in Destiny 2, the Festival of the Lost features challenges that revolve around completing activities or achieving kills with designated weapons. This year, the event introduces a grenade launcher alongside the already available auto rifle, pulse rifle, and sniper rifle. As a result, Bungie has created a challenge for players to eliminate targets using each of these weapon types. Additionally, there are challenges for completing playlist activities and participating in either Crucible or Gambit matches. This presents an opportunity for players to equip three out of the four weapons and engage in Crucible or Gambit activities to potentially complete up to five challenges simultaneously.
Destiny 2's New Triumph to Get a Black Memento
Players can obtain an all-new Memento in Destiny 2 by acquiring Eerie Engrams during the Festival of the Lost event. However, in order to unlock this reward, they must complete a secret Triumph that has been added to the Season of the Witch tab. To accomplish this, players will need to equip a Clovis Bray Mask while completing the Fallen SABRE Strike, achieve 100 kills on Neomuna using the Nimbus Mask, and perform 25 finishers in Legend Haunted Sectors while wearing the Tormentor Mask - all of which can be unlocked by completing this year's challenges. Upon successful completion, players will receive their first Lost Memento and have the opportunity to acquire more by actively participating in the game.
Be Patient With Festival of the Lost Activities
Destiny 2 is a game that unfortunately is not immune to bugs. Occasionally, players may encounter significant issues that hinder their progress. The current version of the Festival of the Lost is no exception, as players may experience lost progress or improperly tracked achievements if they leave Haunted Sectors prematurely, particularly when accessing the Commendations screen. To ensure a seamless event experience, it is crucial to take the necessary time to ensure that all actions are properly recorded and accounted for.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
