Destiny 2's Season of the Witch is nearly ending, with less than 40 days remaining before the next chapter and the ongoing Festival of the Lost event. For some players, it may be a good time to shift their focus and energy towards preparing for Season 23. With Season 23 and The Final Shape bringing numerous changes to Destiny 2's economy, along with buffs, nerfs, and adjustments to the overall sandbox, certain items are expected to improve or expand their usefulness. This particularly applies to four Titan Exotics that players should not underestimate once Season 23 is released.
Currently, there are over 40 Exotics available to each class in Destiny 2, providing a wealth of options for different builds and strategies. However, this abundance of choices can make it difficult to determine the best options for specific builds. As Season 23 approaches, certain underutilized Exotics for each class have the potential to shine. Titans, in particular, have a selection of options that are currently outside the meta but may see a resurgence with the rise of Stasis in the upcoming season.
Cadmus Ridge Lancecap
ACD/0 Feedback Fence
The Cadmus Ridge Lancecap helm is arguably one of the top-tier Exotics for Titans, especially when paired with suitable builds. It empowers players to generate multiple Stasis crystals upon Diamond Lance impact. This ability alone holds significant power, as it allows players to exert control over the battlefield and easily crowd-control enemies. Additionally, it seamlessly integrates with the Behemoth Titan subclass in Destiny 2. Moreover, precise hits and eliminations with a Stasis weapon while positioned behind a rally Barricade will also generate Diamond Lances in close proximity to the player. Considering the increased presence of Stasis mods in Season 23, this particular Exotic is poised to become immensely valuable.
ACD/0 Feedback Fence, one of Destiny 2's Exotics affected by Season of the Witch, came with several changes. This Exotic now grants players the ability to generate Armor Charges through any melee attack. Although it consumes them to create an explosion upon injury, it can be utilized as a momentum-shifting tool for certain builds that consistently expend Armor Charges. For instance, one such build revolves around the Titan Behemoth, constantly employing the charged melee of Howl of the Storm or even the Frenzied Blade of the Strand Titan, spamming these abilities to deal substantial melee damage.
Hoarfrost-Z
Given the presence of Stasis seasonal mods in Destiny 2's Season 23, the Hoarfrost-Z is set to significantly improve. It now has the ability to replace the regular Titan Barricade with one constructed from five Stasis crystals. These crystals interact seamlessly with the subclass' gameplay loop, proving invaluable for generating Stasis shards, triggering explosions with Whisper of Fissures, and more. Additionally, the new Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon has introduced a Stasis wave frame grenade launcher. Players can utilize this weapon to obliterate Barricades created by the Hoarfrost-Z, resulting in additional explosions and amplified Stasis effects.
Icefall Mantle
Similarly, by focusing on Stasis, Bungie aims to encourage the utilization of Stasis weapons. Destiny 2's Icefall Mantle enhances the damage inflicted by Stasis weapons with its recently improved perk. Currently, this Exotic piece, which has been overlooked by many, enables players to accumulate up to a 35% damage increase when using Stasis weapons to eliminate enemies. This can result in a substantial boost to DPS during Raids, Dungeons, or even GM Nightfalls, especially when paired with formidable firearms. Additionally, the Icefall Mantle offers the ability to generate an immediate overshield instead of a Titan Barricade, proving invaluable in precarious situations.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
