A brilliant ornament idea imagines a Doom Eternal-inspired makeover for a Destiny 2 gun.
The Conditional Finality Exotic shotgun in Destiny 2 lacks weapon ornaments, therefore introducing a new Super Shotgun ornament inspired by the latest game in the Doom franchise, featuring the Meat Hook attachment, could potentially appeal to a wider player base and incentivize completion of the Root of Nightmares raid.
In Destiny 2, players may soon have the chance to wield a gun inspired by one of Doom Eternal's famous weapon designs. With every season, Bungie introduces new weapon ornaments in the game, sometimes incorporating designs that players have voted for.
While Destiny 2's weapon ornaments have stirred up some controversy among fans due to Bungie's monetization practices involving the Eververse shop, there are still plenty of ways for players to obtain these ornaments. They can be earned by progressing through the Season Pass, completing specific quests, and opening Bright Engrams in Destiny 2. Additionally, Bungie actively seeks feedback on potential ornament ideas through its blog posts and community voting events.
Destiny 2 fan Cerberusx32 came up with an original idea for a Doom Eternal Super Shotgun weapon ornament to decorate the Conditional Finality Exotic shotgun. Since both guns have a similar double-barreled shotgun design, the community was likely to appreciate the ornament concept. The mock-up for the Conditional Finality ornament includes the Super Shotgun's famous "meat hook," which allows players to use a grappling hook in Doom Eternal. Even though the Exotic shotgun itself doesn't have a grappling hook, players could utilize the Strand subclass to grapple and swing through the air.
To obtain the Conditional Finality Exotic shotgun in Destiny 2, players must complete the final boss encounter in the Root of Nightmares raid. The drop rate for this particular shotgun is low each week, but those fortunate enough to receive it can immediately use it in all in-game activities. Conditional Finality is one of the few Destiny 2 weapons that can unleash different elemental rounds. This Exotic shotgun's dual barrels shoot both Stasis and Solar rounds.
Destiny 2 has collaborated with popular titles like Fortnite, Assassin's Creed, and Fall Guys in the past, but unfortunately, these collaborations did not include any new weapon ornaments. However, now there is an exciting new idea for a Conditional Finality ornament from Cerberusx32 that showcases the untapped potential for future Destiny 2 collaborations. By creating a Super Shotgun ornament for Conditional Finality, it could attract more players to join forces and successfully complete the Root of Nightmares raid. This would also address the issue of Conditional Finality's limited weapon ornaments, as currently it only has one called "Erinyes-SG1" in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep.
In addition, it's worth noting that Conditional Finality has yet to receive a catalyst in Destiny 2. This presents the possibility of Bungie considering this idea in the future. If a new catalyst and weapon ornament were introduced, the raid Exotic weapon would become highly desirable for multiple seasons. However, it is ultimately at Bungie's discretion to decide which items will receive ornaments.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
