Destiny 2 players can once again indulge in Xur's offerings of exotic and legendary gear for a limited time. However, the game has been plagued with bugs lately, with one allowing Arcstrider Hunters to use strand abilities. Bungie has yet to comment on this, but has teased an upcoming update that will restore three exotic items, tweak certain perks, and correct the rewards given out from the Last Wish weekly quest. Additionally, Bungie has renamed their weekly blog post from This Week at Bungie to This Week in Destiny, marking the first rebranding since 2016. This change reflects Bungie's expansion beyond the "Destiny" franchise, which was highlighted with the announcement of their upcoming game, Marathon.
Where is Xur?
Xur, the weekend merchant, has returned to the world of Destiny 2. If you're looking for his current weekend location or updates on his exotic cipher quest, this guide has got you covered. Additionally, we'll be reviewing all of the exotic and legendary gear that Xur has brought for the weekend of June 9, 2023.
Over the weekend, players should head to Watcher's Grave on Nessus to find the merchant up the massive tree towards the back of the zone.
Head over to Nessus and make your way to Watcher's Grave, following the directions of the Director. Once there, venture towards the back of the zone where a towering tree awaits. Climb up the branches until you reach the spot where the merchant can be found, perched high above the ground.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Players can also acquire a new cipher by completing strikes, winning crucible or gambit matches, and earning bonus points for playing with clan mates or completing more challenging activities. These quests not only enable players to purchase a second fated engram but also allow them to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Moreover, Xur's inventory now includes Legendary Weapons and Armor that can be purchased with Legendary Shards and Glimmer, in addition to his usual exotic gear.
Exotic Armor
Vesper of Radius - Warlock helmet
Exotic Perk:
By equipping The Whispers, players can add an extra melee charge to their arsenal. What makes this exotic even more enticing is that landing a charged melee final blow will result in the spawning of an Orb of Power. While it may not be the most visually impressive exotic out there, it's certainly a reliable choice.
Stat Values (65 Total):
Mobility +10 Resilience +12 Recovery +13 Discipline +9 Intellect +7 Strength +14
Orpheus Rig - Hunter leg armor
Exotic Perk:
Uncanny Arrows - Provides ability energy for each target tethered by Deadfall anchors. Moebius Quiver has an additional shot.
The stat roll this week is evenly distributed without any extreme highs or lows, despite being the lowest of the trio. It is a viable option for those looking to replace an outdated roll. Although not as potent as it used to be, it can still be effective for tether hunters.
Stat Values (63 Total):
Mobility +13 Resilience +10 Recovery +10 Discipline +9 Intellect +12 Strength +9
Crest of Alpha Lupi - Titan chest armor
Exotic Perk:
Survival Well - Generates an additional Orb of Power from Supers and a healing pulse when Barricade is activated.
Although it may pose a challenge for Titans who prioritize mobility, this exotic is incredibly beneficial for solo players due to its impressive healing abilities. Despite the high Mobility stat, this week's roll is the top choice among its counterparts, making it a valuable acquisition.
Stat Values (total of 67):
Mobility +16 Resilience +11 Recovery +7 Discipline +20 Intellect +6 Strength +7
Exotic Weapon
Graviton Lance, the pulse rifle that has been making waves among Guardians, is finally back in stock this week. Its exotic perk, Black Hole, allows the second shot of a burst to deal significant damage and recoil without any falloff. What's even more impressive is its synergy with the Cosmology perk, which causes enemies to detonate and spawn Void projectiles that track other targets upon being killed with the Graviton Lance.
Without a doubt, pulse rifles have maintained their position as one of the most powerful weapon classes in Destiny 2. As an already impressive weapon, it proves to be particularly formidable when combating multiple enemies due to its impressive ability to inflict AoE damage. In PvP scenarios, it remains a reliable choice, but its true potential is seen in chaotic encounters. As for its weapon perks:
