Players entering week four of Season of the Deep in Destiny 2 are already familiar with how the Season works and the rewards they can obtain. However, obtaining these rewards requires the new currency, Salvage Keys and Deep Dive Keys, in large quantities.
While players should already be aware of where Salvage and Deep Dive Keys can drop, they may find it frustrating due to their low drop rate. This makes acquiring the keys for the new Seasonal loot a tedious task. Fortunately, there are several efficient ways for players to farm these keys in Destiny 2.
Method 1: Run The Seasonal Activities
One way to obtain the necessary keys is by repeatedly participating in the seasonal activities, Salvage and Deep Dive. Although this can be a monotonous task, completing these activities will not only grant the player the specific keys they require but also boost their Sonar Reputation. The Sonar Reputation can be found at the Sonar Station in the helm.
As the player progresses in their Sonar rank, they will receive a Deep Engram and may also obtain a Salvage or Deep Dive Key, depending on their rank. While this method may not be the quickest, it offers a dual benefit as players are required to maximize their Sonar Reputation in order to attain the Title.
Method 2: Farm Raid Encounters
For more experienced players who consistently Raid, the second method is the most optimal. As previously mentioned, completing any activity in the game, including Raids, can grant Salvage and Deep Dives. However, it's important to note that this applies to individual encounters within a Raid, not the entire Raid itself. Thus, players have the opportunity to continuously farm Raid encounters in order to obtain Salvage and Deep Dive Keys. The only remaining task is to determine the most advantageous encounters to farm. Across all the Raids in Destiny 2, there are numerous encounters to choose from. While personal preference ultimately plays a role, the recommended approach is to farm the Raid that is featured during a given week.
Completing any encounter, whether it be farming the first encounter of the Last Wish Raid, Kalli, or killing the final boss of the Deep Stone Crypt Raid, Taniks, offers players the best opportunity to earn Salvage and Deep Dive Keys. It's important to note that players can only hold a maximum of five of each Key at a time and must use them in order to acquire more.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
