Imbibitor Lunae, the new battlesuit in Honkai: Star Rail, is skill-point-heavy, which raises concerns about his usability and free-to-play friendliness.
To enhance Imbibitor Lunae's effectiveness, focus on leveling up all of his traces and equip the 4pc Wastelander of Banditry Desert relic set, which boosts his Crit rate and damage.
A new battlesuit called Imbibitor Lunae has been introduced in Honkai: Star Rail, which is their first battlesuit. Fans were eagerly waiting to see their close friend Dan Heng gain new strength in this form. However, there is a significant concern about the high skill point consumption of Imbibitor Lunae. In a single turn, his skill can consume up to 3 skill points, which raises questions about his safety during gameplay and whether he is suitable for free-to-play players.
Unfortunately, being skill-hungry is an inherent trait of Imbibitor Lunae in Honkai: Star Rail and cannot be avoided. However, players can work with this trait by utilizing solid supports who can focus on supplying him with skill points instead of using their own skills on the field. Despite the initial concerns, Imbibitor Lunae is still a manageable unit.
Honkai: Star Rail's Imbibitor Lunae's Kit
Imbibitor Lunae's traces are crucial to his performance as a DPS character. Initially, it may be challenging to choose which trace to prioritize. However, players are encouraged to focus on enhancing his normal attack first before achieving a balance. As his skill enhances his normal attack, similar to Blade, most of his damage output stems from it. Some players prefer to level up one trace at a time, while others progress in order, increasing one level at a time. Regardless of the approach, unlocking all of Imbibitor Lunae's traces is essential. Each node offers significant benefits, including a 12% increase in critical rate for players to enjoy.
To optimize Imbibitor Lunae's build, the ideal relic set for him is the 4pc Wastelander of Banditry Desert. This set enhances Imaginary damage with its 2pc bonus. Additionally, players have the chance to gain an extra 10% critical rate and 20% critical damage if they execute their rotations correctly. Since Imbibitor Lunae serves as a damage dealer, he benefits greatly from the typical DPS sub-stats: ATK, critical rate, critical damage, and SPD all play crucial roles in his kit.
However, it is essential for his main body piece to prioritize Crit DMG. Although he has various opportunities to increase his Crit rate and players can find enough in the sub-stats, the Crit DMG may not reach its full potential without a main stat Crit DMG body piece. Imbibitor Lunae's light cones are relatively straightforward as well. Due to the simplicity of his kit when it comes to skill points and not building, he has a wide range of expected DPS options.
Among the options available to him, the best choice for free-to-play players is "On The Fall of an Aeon." This artifact boosts his ATK and DMG against enemies whose weaknesses have been exploited. It is easy to maximize this artifact's potential since it can be obtained from Herta's shop using Herta bonds.
Imbibitor Lunae's skill dependency necessitates pairing him with teammates who do not heavily rely on their own skills. The emphasis is on Imbibitor Lunae utilizing skills, rather than support or other characters. Imbibitor Lunae's team compositions reflect this, placing him at the forefront. Initially, it may seem challenging to create a free-to-play friendly team for him, as some of the best teammates, like Luocha, are five-star characters (as their healing does not require skill points). However, this is not the case, as supporting Imbibitor Lunae without owning specific characters is remarkably simple. Players need not worry about building a team for him.
Honkai: Star Rail is now accessible on Mobile, PC, and PS5.
