Brian Austin Green has ditched his luscious locks.

"Sharing a fresh cut! Just wanted to show you all," Green, 50, posted on Instagram on Saturday, August 5. He included a selfie of his newly shaved head and added, "It's for work, since people seem to have opinions about it. Just wanted to share."

In addition to the haircut, Green decided to trim his beard into a goatee. He chose to disable comments on the post and did not provide further details about the project. Recently, it was announced that Green will be among the celebrities competing in season 2 of Special Forces, which will premiere on Fox next month.

Before the change, Green had longer and darker hair. Earlier in May, he made a temporary change and showed off platinum blonde hair on the red carpet at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles, accompanied by his partner Sharna Burgess. Burgess, who is 38 years old, and Green have a 13-month-old son named Zane. Green is also a father to Noah, Bodhi, and Journey from his previous marriage to Megan Fox, as well as a son named Kassius from his previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil.

"About... Last week, I've been meaning to share our @iheartradio pics this whole week, but life and kids got in the way," Burgess wrote on Instagram along with photos of herself and Green. "It felt amazing to get dressed up and walk the red carpet with the father of my child, even though people kept mistaking him for my husband. Date night was a huge success."

While Green is now choosing to embrace a new hairstyle, he had openly discussed his experience with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to counter hair loss in the past. According to John Hopkins Medicine, this procedure utilizes the patient's own blood cells to expedite healing in a specific area. Additionally, PRP treatment is not limited to addressing male pattern baldness but can also be employed to treat joint injuries.

"Sharing via Instagram in October 2022, Green revealed that he underwent PRP treatment to address his hair loss. He praised and expressed gratitude to his doctor, @drchiubhps, for the amazing job done. Green's love for long hair is evident not only in himself but also in his sons, including his toddler. When asked about their son Zane's hair, Burgess confirmed through an Instagram Live session that they are fully supportive of allowing him to grow out his natural, adorable baby hair."

Green later responded to those who criticized his sons' decision to have long hair, stating, "My boys have long hair, and they like it. In my view, they are beautiful, and even if they wore matching short and t-shirt outfits with short hair, they still might be mistaken for girls. People have different preferences regarding boys and men with long hair, and that's perfectly fine."
