Brian Austin Green discussed his difficult journey towards healing and obtaining a diagnosis for his significant health problems. On Cheryl Burke's podcast, "Sex, Lies and Spray Tans," which aired on October 2nd, Green, aged 50, shared how he crossed paths with his now-fiancée, Sharna Burgess, during their respective quests for personal growth.

"She has been diligently focusing on self-improvement, remaining single for nearly five years," Green remarked about Burgess, who is 38 years old. He mentioned that during the same period, he was also actively involved in therapy following his separation from Megan Fox in 2020.

Green's journey towards personal growth took a significant turn when a health issue necessitated a dietary change. "For four and a half years, I battled stroke-like symptoms without having actually experienced a stroke. It resulted in a loss of speech, reading, and writing abilities," he disclosed.

Green experienced a diagnosis of vertigo and ulcerative colitis, rendering him bedridden for a three-month period. However, the underlying cause of these illnesses remained uncertain. Subsequently, Green began encountering neurological symptoms which persisted for a staggering four and a half years, causing him to move about in a manner reminiscent of an elderly individual.

Green has linked his health scare to a dietary issue, stating, "Western medicine couldn't diagnose it, so I had to seek out a doctor who practices kinesiology and Eastern medicine."

After undergoing nearly 200 blood tests and two MRIs, a different doctor informed the Special Forces contestant that he had internal inflammation caused by gluten and dairy, leaving Green astonished at the diagnosis.

"I was experiencing such a severe state of mental confusion that I introduced my dear friend, who I have known for over 25 years, to my sister, whom he also knew for over 25 years," he revealed.

Similar to Green, Burgess has been open about the highs and lows in her life lately. The professional dancer admitted in September that she had a significant addiction to methamphetamine during her teenage years.

"I experienced a moment of clarity that gave me the opportunity to transform my life and realize my true potential," she revealed on the September 26 episode of her "Old-ish" podcast with cohosts Green and Randy Spelling. "At the age of 17, after staying awake for three consecutive days, we gathered in the backyard of a house where a crack pipe containing meth was being passed around. We all took hits from it."

She continued, "It was a disturbing sight to witness 20-somethings and even young 30-somethings eagerly passing around this crack pipe, desperate for another hit. At that time, I had been experimenting with meth, not on a daily basis, but sporadically because it was something new to me."

Burgess, who has a 15-month-old son named Zane with Green, clarified that the experience happened "over 20 years" ago. She mentioned that it was not as "dirty" as it is now, as it was a newer and cleaner drug at that time. Burgess explained that she didn't become addicted or use it every day, but it was considered a party drug back then and she would party around three to four days a week.

Prior to the release of the episode, Burgess had an exclusive conversation with We, where she discussed her decision to be open and honest about her past.

"We haven't encountered any topic that is off limits," she stated in September regarding her podcast project with Green. "Of course, there are certain aspects that we will not disclose. We are keeping some things private, but our intention was to be open and honest so that we can provide others with the opportunity to realize, 'Oh, the challenges I am facing are not unique to me alone.'"
