Bungie announces reduced costs for focusing exotic engrams with Rahool in Destiny 2, making it more accessible for all players.

Bungie intends to adjust the costs associated with focusing exotic engrams based on player feedback and playtime patterns. The updated system will feature different tiers that will demand different quantities of Glimmer, Enhancement Prisms, or Ascendant Shards.

Significant changes are anticipated in Season 23 of Destiny 2, which include the elimination of Legendary Shards. These modifications raise uncertainties regarding the adjustments that will be made to specific in-game features.

Bungie's latest weekly blog revealed that they will be reducing the costs associated with focusing exotic engrams with Rahool in Destiny 2. As a live service game, Bungie strives to continuously update and transform Destiny 2 beyond the usual expansion and seasonal content release schedule. Regular tweaks and adjustments are implemented, with significant sandbox updates typically occurring every few months alongside a new season's mid-season update.

In anticipation of Season 23, Bungie has announced plans to remove additional currencies. This decision may come as a surprise to long-time players, as various currencies and resources have been eliminated in previous seasons. The removal of Legendary Shards, scheduled to take effect at the beginning of The Final Shape expansion, has raised concerns regarding how players will be able to purchase gear from Xur, retrieve gear from vendors like the Monument to Lost Lights, and more.

This week's "The Week In Destiny" provided more insight into the update process involving the Cryptarch, Rahool. To ensure that both hardcore players and those who don't spend as much time playing have a fair chance at acquiring exotic engrams from the Tower Vendor, Bungie is adjusting the cost. Initially, the prices were based on Destiny 2's Monument to Lost Lights to prevent an overwhelming influx of exotics. However, the studio recently realized that most players weren't earning enough Ascendant Shards each week to utilize this mechanic effectively.

Starting with the October 17 weekly reset, Bungie plans to update the costs for exotic engram focusing. To obtain a Tier 1 exotic, players will need to spend 30,000 Glimmer and 10 Enhancement Prisms. On the other hand, Tier 2 focusing will require 60,000 Glimmer and 2 Ascendant Shards.

Apart from Rahool, the Gunsmith will also receive some adjustments to the daily weapon offerings. These changes will be implemented when Season 23 launches later this year. Banshee-44 will rotate a selection of specific Foundry Weapons each day, including Suros, Hakke, Veist, and Omolon weapons from Seasons 16-19. Two foundries will be available daily, ensuring that the weapons are always from at least four past seasonal releases.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
