The latest update to Destiny 2 has brought with it a host of changes and fixes that have greatly improved the overall gameplay experience. Along with adjustments to weapon swapping, the update has addressed a number of issues with various activities, and implemented balance changes that have been welcomed by the player community. Despite being released in 2017, Destiny 2 continues to attract and retain a dedicated following, thanks to its diverse range of activities, engaging PvP and PvE encounters, and regular content updates. However, some players have expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of the game, including Gambit, Playlist Strikes, and Ritual Armor, leading to calls for improvements from the development team.

The recently released update 7.1.0.1 for Destiny 2, which came with a comprehensive list of patch notes, included a notable improvement in weapon swapping. This had been previously discussed by Bungie in an earlier update. With the latest update, players are required to wait for only one second before being able to shoot their weapon after switching, which is a significant reduction from the previous two-second delay. The developers have also addressed various bugs that were causing inconvenience to players during activities such as The Crucible, Salvage, and Guardian Ranks.

Activities

The Destiny 2 community on Reddit has been abuzz with reactions to the recent changes. While some may find the patch notes lacking in significant alterations and additions to the game, it remains to be seen if the minor tweaks and additions will be enough to entice players back to the game. Major Destiny 2 updates have historically brought back a significant portion of the player base, but this latest patch may prove to be a test for the game's ability to retain its audience.
