Peter Thomas, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and ex-husband of Cynthia Bailey, was recently arrested for driving under the influence in Atlanta. The 63-year-old was cited for several misdemeanors, including driving with expired tags, driving without a license, and failure to maintain lane.
After being taken into custody, he was released on bail a few hours later. Entertainment Tonight reported that Thomas has been given several restrictions following his release. These include abstaining from alcohol and drugs, undergoing random drug tests, and being prohibited from owning firearms. Additional information about the restaurateur's arrest has not been disclosed, and he has not publicly commented on the incident.
In 2019, Thomas was arrested for allegedly writing fraudulent checks. After being released in March, he denied the claims and stated, "I understand the seriousness of the allegations that have been filed against me, however, the allegations are false. I have faith in the judicial process and believe I will be acquitted from any wrongdoing. My attorney is handling this matter expeditiously."
Thomas gained fame when he joined the cast of RHOA in season 3 with his then-girlfriend, Bailey. The show prominently featured their engagement, wedding, and subsequent divorce. Thomas left the series after splitting from Bailey in 2013. Bailey, now 56, later married Mike Hill in October 2020, but the couple split two years later in October 2022.
"At first, it was the physical separation. But eventually, I began moving forward into a new phase of my life and career," Bailey revealed about her divorce. "We both had a lot of changes happening, as he was transitioning into a new job and I was moving to a new city and focusing on a different career after leaving Housewives."
After her divorce, Bailey reconnected with Thomas.
