The new R-rated rom-com, Anyone But You, featuring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney, is currently showing in theaters. But is there a post-credits scene? Here’s everything you should know.
Romantic comedies used to dominate the movie theater scene, with the genre hitting its peak in the 2000s. My Big Fat Greek Wedding and What Women Want grossed $374 million, Hitch made $366 million, and the Bridget Jones movies collectively earned over $740 million.
They had inexplicably faded into obscurity, ending up in the discount section of streaming services, no longer drawing packed theaters of couples, friends, and families on weekends.
But Anyone But You could signal a revival with the rising stars of Hollywood's next generation. So, does the new movie have a post-credits scene? Spoilers ahead...
Anyone But You post-credits scene explained
Yes, Anyone But You does have a post-credits scene.
During the credits, snippets of the cast members singing Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ are shown, followed by a scene where Ben and Bea apologize to Claudia and Halle. Additionally, Margarete and Jonathan, the exes of the main duo, are seen kissing at the wedding reception. Director Will Gluck revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that incorporating the cast singing the song into the shooting schedule involved doing it every day for 42 out of the 45-50 days of shooting.
At the conclusion of the movie, all 200 Australians on the crew joined in singing the song. Initially, some were hesitant, but by the third or fourth day, everyone was fully engaged, as evidenced by the end result. The success of the endeavor relied on the enjoyment of the participants, who clearly had a great time. This dynamic was constant throughout the production.
The film's official synopsis describes "Anyone But You" as an edgy comedy that follows Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell), who appear to be the ideal couple. However, after a fantastic first date, something happens that extinguishes their initial fiery attraction – until they find themselves forced to pose as a couple at a destination wedding in Australia.

Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of romantic comedies, I was thrilled to hear about the release of Anyone But You, starring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney. The movie's premise sounded hilarious, and I couldn't wait to see what the post-credits scene had in store.
I was not disappointed! The post-credits scene was a delightful surprise, featuring the cast members singing Natasha Bedingfield's 'Unwritten'. It was a fun and heartwarming way to end the movie, and it left me feeling happy and satisfied. I also appreciated the fact that the director, Will Gluck, took the time to explain how the cast singing the song was incorporated into the shooting schedule. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort went into creating this special moment, and it really paid off.
