Spoiler Alert: The Marvels post-credits scene delivered an exciting cameo that left Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiasts ecstatic. (Spoilers ahead for The Marvels, encompassing the conclusion and unexpected appearances of additional superheroes.)

Fans have now become accustomed to staying through the credits of Marvel Studios films. However, in the case of The Marvels, which debuted on November 10, there is only a mid-credits scene. Those who remain until the very end of the credits will be rewarded with a playful flerken sound effect, but the main post-credits clip in the sequel to Captain Marvel appears after the animated segment that lists the cast and creative team.

This scene reveals the fate of Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), who selflessly sacrificed herself to protect the universe. The nefarious Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton) devised a plan that created a rift between their reality and another one, which Monica had the ability to seal using her powers. However, she chose not to inform anyone of her intention to become a martyr until it was too late for Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) to save her.

In the post-credits scene, Monica awakens in a hospital and is surprised to see someone who strongly resembles her late mother, Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch). Overwhelmed with emotion, Monica expresses how much she has missed her. However, the woman, who bears a resemblance to Maria, refers to Monica as their "patient" and comments on her disorientation. Notably, this woman is seen wearing a red and white superhero suit that closely resembles the costume of Binary, a character from the comic books.

Turns out, Alternate Universe Maria is having a conversation with none other than Beast/Hank McCoy, a member of the X-Men. Actor Kelsey Grammer reprises his role from the 2006 film "X-Men: The Last Stand" and the 2014 film "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Beast explains that the scans indicate Monica is from a parallel reality. After providing this information, he promptly departs, intending to update Dr. Charles Xavier. This abrupt revelation leaves Monica shocked and unsettled.

Ever since Disney finalized their acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019, there has been much anticipation among fans regarding the introduction of the X-Men. A delightful surprise came last year when Patrick Stewart made an unexpected appearance as Dr. Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Notably, Beast is the second mutant from an alternate universe to make an appearance.

Thus far, within the universe where our beloved MCU characters reside, only Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (played by Iman Vellani) and Namor (portrayed by Tenoch Huerta) have made their debut. However, more exciting introductions are on the horizon, particularly with the upcoming Deadpool 3, which will feature the iconic Wolverine/Logan played by Hugh Jackman.

In addition to Beast and Alternate Universe Maria, there are other characters that make cameos in The Marvels. After the credits, Kamala finds herself approaching Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfeld) in her apartment. It is there that Lucky the Pizza Dog also makes a brief appearance.

Kamala poses an important question to Kate, asking, "Did you think you were the only young superhero in the world?"

Kate, who is 23 years old according to her statement (implying that some time has passed since the events of Hawkeye), continues to listen despite being a high school student.

Kamala proceeds with her pitch, mentioning, "You have now become a part of a significantly larger universe, although it mostly consists of me at the moment." She adds, "However, I am actively reaching out to others. Have you heard about Ant-Man's daughter?"

"Kate, I need you to be direct. I stumbled upon a classified S.A.B.E.R. file hidden in my couch, revealing the identities of other young heroes. After partnering with Carol and Monica, I believe it's time to assemble a new team of superheroes, including you and Cassie Lang/Stature (played by Kathryn Newton). It appears that the Young Avengers initiative is getting underway. So, Kamala pleads, 'I'm forming a team and I sincerely want you to be a part of it. Will you please join?'"

In terms of teams, the initial cameo in the movie occurs when Carol introduces Valkyrie (played by Tessa Thompson) to assist in locating a new home for displaced skrulls. This signifies the first appearance of the Asgardian ruler since Thor: Love and Thunder. Val warmly greets Carol and emphasizes the importance of relying on others for assistance. "You don't have to stand alone to stand tall," Val remarks.
