The Honkai: Star Rail Rarely Affectionate quest involves Clara's Companion Mission, where she seeks assistance from the Trailblazers. This mission is split into two parts, wherein players are tasked with accompanying Clara to uncover the reason behind Pascal's unusual behavior. Both quests transpire within the Robot Settlement and offer a reward of 60 Stellar Jades.
In the concluding section of the Rarely Affectionate Part 2 quest, Trailblazers must make a crucial decision: whether to persuade Clara or Svarog to adopt the other's plan and determine Pascal's destiny in Honkai: Star Rail. The following depicts the outcome depending on whether players choose to reset Pascal or not in Honkai: Star Rail.
Should You Reset Pascal Or Not? - Honkai: Star Rail
At the conclusion of the Rarely Affectionate Part 2 mission in Honkai: Star Rail, Trailblazers will be faced with a decision regarding Pascal's fate. Clara and Svarog will present two differing perspectives on whether to reset Pascal or not. Svarog will propose deactivating Pascal, while Clara will passionately appeal to players to keep the partially malfunctioning machine operational.
It is important to note that selecting either option regarding Pascal's reset will not impact Clara's decision to remain a visitor on the Express.
Choosing To Reset Pascal (Svarog’s Choice)
Choosing to reset Pascal will format and integrate Pascal into the base network and will trigger the Wish You Were Here quest. Completing this quest will grant Trailblazers the For a Breath I Tarry achievement in Honkai: Star Rail.
Choosing Not To Reset Pascal (Clara’s Choice)
Opting not to reset Pascal in Honkai: Star Rail will trigger the No One Is Answering quest. Completing this quest will grant Trailblazers the coveted The Lifecycle of Software Objects achievement.
Rarely Affectionate Quest In Honkai: Star Rail
The Rarely Affectionate quest is a two-part Companion Mission that rewards Trailblazers with the Clara and the Sun achievement in Honkai: Star Rail.
Rarely Affectionate (Part 1)
In the initial phase of the Honkai: Star Rail quest, Clara seeks assistance from the Trailblazers to delve into a peculiar case of stolen mechanical components belonging to the Vagrants. To apprehend the perpetrator, players are required to execute the following tasks:
Question the witness of the theft cases.
Search for clues regarding the culprit.
To assist Clara in repairing the dysfunctional robot:
Find Toby at the gates of the base.
Follow Toby to find the right Robot Shell for the Gear-Stealing Robot.
Report back to Clara.
Afterward, Clara will transfer the robot’s core into the new Robot Shell and will ask Svarog to help her choose a name for it.
Rarely Affectionate (Part 2)
In order to assist Pascal in functioning properly, players should proceed to Rivet Town and track down Pascal, who has fled there.
Investigate the Tempering Workshop.
Rarely Affectionate (Part 2) won’t be triggered until players reach Trailblaze Level 34 and complete Adventure Mission Sinners Misled, Credence Falsified.
Although Clara has a suspicion that Pascal may have emotions, the players firmly insist that she must have a discussion with Svarog regarding this matter. Once they return to the base and consult Svarog, the players are faced with a decision regarding whether they should reset Pascal or not.

As an enthusiastic fan of Honkai: Star Rail, I was thrilled to learn about the Rarely Affectionate quest and the pivotal decision that Trailblazers must make regarding Pascal's fate. The choice between resetting Pascal or not has far-reaching consequences, and it was fascinating to explore the different outcomes.
In my opinion, the decision to reset Pascal or not should be based on the player's personal preferences and their understanding of Pascal's character. If players believe that Pascal's malfunctioning state is causing him distress or harm, then resetting him may be the most compassionate option. However, if players believe that Pascal's unique personality and emotions are worth preserving, then choosing not to reset him could be the better choice.
Ultimately, the decision should be made based on what the player believes is best for Pascal, and there is no right or wrong answer. I appreciate that Honkai: Star Rail presents players with these types of meaningful choices that have a real impact on the story and characters. It makes the game feel more immersive and engaging, and it allows players to shape the world of the game in their own way.
