Nneka Ihim has announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Potomac after appearing in one season of the Bravo reality show.
In a statement to People on Monday, May 13, Ihim, 36, confirmed, "I will not be returning for season 9 of RHOP. As a true resident of Potomac proper, 20854, just know that I’ll be seeing you all again soon."
Nneka, a first-generation Nigerian-American cast member, expressed her gratitude to Bravo for the opportunity to be on the show. However, she is now focused on growing her family with her husband Dr. Ikenna Ihim.
After experiencing multiple failed fertility procedures, Nneka has decided to prioritize expanding her family. She thanked the fans for their support throughout the season, especially during her challenging journey from IUI to IVF and the stigma associated with infertility. The kind words from fans have uplifted her and fueled her determination to continue sharing her story.
During season 8 of RHOP, Ihim didn’t get along with fellow Nigerian Housewife Dr. Wendy Osefo. However, when announcing her departure, Ihim mentioned that she had formed lasting friendships with some amazing women during her time on the show.
Away from the cameras, Ihim recently had a fun dinner with her costars Ashley Darby, Gizelle Bryant, Mia Thornton, and Charrisse Jackson-Jordan. She took to Instagram on March 17 to share a photo from the gathering, where they were celebrating Robyn Dixon's upcoming birthday. Ihim wrote, "Celebrating @robyndixon10!️️ Happy (early) Birthday Robyn!!!"

RHOP is going through some changes in the cast as season 9 starts filming. Candiace Dillard Bassett revealed in March that she would be taking a break from the show after being on for six years. She assured fans that it wasn't a final goodbye, but more of a "see you later." Shortly after, she shared the exciting news that she and her husband Chris Bassett were expecting their first child.
In April, Robyn Dixon also announced that she would not be coming back to the show after being a part of it for eight seasons.
She revealed on her "Reasonably Shady" podcast episode on April 15 that she was not invited back by the network. She described the experience as being fired, keeping it simple. She expressed that the past eight years have been a mix of fun, stress, and craziness.
Actress Christina Applegate was among the fans saddened by Dixon's departure from the show. Upon hearing the news, she shared her thoughts with Andy Cohen.
