Destiny 2 will soon introduce new features allowing players to effortlessly join teams for raids and dungeons. Bungie recently unveiled a range of exciting updates for the game during a livestream event. The current Season of the Witch sets the stage for the upcoming expansion, The Final Shape. Additionally, players can look forward to the release of the next raid, Crota's End, in September. Raids have always been a core aspect of the franchise, but they typically necessitate a committed group of players to complete. Fortunately, Bungie is making it more convenient for Destiny 2 players to connect with fellow teammates for raids.
Beginning with Season 23 in November, players will have the option to utilize the Fireteam Finder application to search for and create their own Fireteams. This feature is particularly helpful for players who don't have their usual squad available, as they can join random teams. Additionally, newcomers and solo players in Destiny 2 can use specific search tags to find the perfect match. For experienced players, the Fireteam Finder is a valuable tool for finding skilled individuals to tackle difficult raids.
In addition to the search function, a new feature called Fireteam Power will soon be available in Destiny 2. Fireteam Power acts as a temporary level boost for squad members who don't meet the recommended power level for certain missions, raids, or multiplayer modes. This eliminates the constraint that higher-level players face when playing with lower-level teammates, allowing them to successfully engage in challenging activities such as the classic Crota's End raid.
Destiny 2 will undergo further changes upon the release of The Final Shape expansion on February 27. Bungie plans to replace the current season model with longer "Episodes" that will offer players the opportunity to explore new stories after the war of Light and Dark concludes.
The introduction of the Fireteam Finder function in Destiny 2 has made the free-to-play shooter more accessible to newcomers. To help these players dive into the action, Bungie has added a playable timeline within the game that provides an overview of the decade-long story thus far. Completing each story will also earn gamers specific mission-related rewards.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
