Each new season in Destiny 2 brings not only fresh weapons, armor, and cosmetics to the game, but also contributes to the ongoing narrative between expansions. In Year 6, these seasons play a crucial role in bridging the gap between Lightfall and the exciting conclusion of The Final Shape. In addition to driving the story forward, each season introduces a thematically fitting title for players who successfully complete a set number of Triumphs. Season of the Deep, for instance, awards the title Aquanaut to those who prove their mastery by fulfilling various challenges.
How to Get the Aquanaut Title
Just as with any other title in the game, players must complete a set of Triumphs in order to unlock a title. The required Triumphs can be found listed under the Seal for the respective title. While some titles are relatively easy to acquire, others pose a significantly greater challenge. In the case of Aquanaut, there are 10 Triumphs associated with Season of the Deep content that need to be successfully accomplished. These Triumphs are outlined below.
Weekly Wetwork: Complete the seasonal storyline | Challenges Accepted: Unlock all of the seasonal bonuses |
Echo Relocation: Reset Rank with the Sonar Station | Reprised Reckoning: Defeat enemies with Season of the Deep weapons |
Big Fish: Defeat both unique bosses in Salvage | Down the Drain: Defeat all three unique bosses in Deep Dives |
Pressurized Deep: Complete a Deep Dive where all encounters have the Pressure Trials active | Quantity Over Quality: Catch 150 fish at any of the three fishing ponds |
Ambitious Angler: Catch an Exotic fish | Something Wicked This Way Comes: Earn Wicked Implement |
Although many Triumphs required to unlock the Aquanaut title are relatively easy, a few may demand a significant amount of time and effort. Destiny 2 players who have dedicated their time to fishing throughout the Season will find no difficulty in unlocking the Quantity Over Quality Triumph before the season concludes. However, the most challenging aspect of acquiring this title is completing the Ambitious Angler Triumph. Even with the assistance of Focused Fishing, capturing an Exotic fish solely relies on sheer luck. While a fortunate few may catch one immediately, others might need to catch hundreds of other fish before encountering an Exotic specimen.
In order to successfully complete the challenging Pressurized Deep missions, it is highly recommended for players to form their own Fireteam. Unfortunately, coordinating with other players in the matchmaking process is nearly impossible, making it exceedingly arduous to conquer the Pressure Trials, be it a single encounter or the entire set.
Players must catch all three Exotic fishes in order to start the Exotic quest and unlock the Wicked Implement. Another option is to team up with someone who has already caught all three fish. It is highly recommended for players to have a Fireteam when attempting The Drowning mission, as it is challenging and has a time constraint.
Destiny 2 can be played on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
