Master the Deep: Proven Destiny 2 Trick for Unscathed Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon

Discover a Deepsight Trick to Avoid Damage in Destiny 2's Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon - A player shares a helpful tip to navigate challenging areas in Bungie's newest dungeon

To avoid taking unnecessary damage during certain sections of Destiny 2's newest dungeon, a player has shared a helpful tip. With the launch of Season of the Deep, the game introduced Ghosts of the Deep, the first dungeon since Spire of the Watcher. The Lucent Hive and their Lightbearing enemies return in this underwater-themed activity, which offers not only a combat challenge but also plenty of lore implications. One of the highlights of the dungeon is the introduction of Xivu Arath, the sister of Savathun, a major character who has been referenced but never before featured to this extent. While players have praised the overall design, one player has discovered a trick to minimize unnecessary damage.

Preventing unnecessary damage in Destiny 2 can be a challenge, especially when activating Deepsight during certain sections. The 2-3 second animation leaves players vulnerable to enemy fire. However, one player named NanoSpectro has found a way to bypass the animation and keep momentum. By sprinting towards Deepsight and quickly jumping and turning around while activating it, players can avoid losing forward momentum and continue to freely move without being stopped by the animation sequence.

The community response to this trick has been overwhelmingly positive, with many players expressing how helpful it will be. NanoSpectro believes that this trick may be easier to execute with a mouse and keyboard due to the quick turn flick required during activation. Still, others have pointed out that controllers with back buttons, such as the customizable Microsoft Elite Series or Sony's new DualSense Edge, could also work.

Some players have expressed their frustration with the boss encounters in Ghost of the Deep despite the trick being able to help players tackle some of the dungeon's challenges. Calls for dungeon boss health scaling based on fireteam size have emerged on recent posts on the Destiny 2 subreddit. Players have pointed out that Akelous and Simmunah's massive health pools have made some encounters last up to 10 phases, making it a tedious and challenging experience. Destiny 2 can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
