Major Outcry: Destiny 2 Players Fuming Over Orbs of Power Update

Destiny 2 players are dissatisfied with a recent alteration regarding the use of Orbs of Power in the game's current sandbox. These orbs allow players to replenish their Super energy and enable them to activate specific armor mod perks. However, there is a portion of the community that feels Bungie made a detrimental change to the value and effectiveness of these orbs.

Despite the introduction of Strand Darkness subclasses in Destiny 2's Lightfall expansion, Orbs of Power still serve their original purpose of empowering Guardians with Super energy. With the assistance of armor mods, players can increase the likelihood of generating Orbs of Power through elemental weapon and grenade kills, reduce ability cooldowns when collecting an orb, and obtain additional Armor Charges in certain circumstances. Loadouts that can generate a significant number of Orbs of Power prove particularly advantageous in Vanguard and Seasonal activities. Nevertheless, the current season has brought forth dissatisfaction among Destiny 2 players regarding the revision of Orbs of Power and the game's physics.

Destiny 2 player AdLate8669 and others are upset about the recent change to Orbs of Power behavior in the game. Before the update, the orbs would stay in one place after being generated. However, now they can roll onto inclined surfaces or fall off the map during gameplay. AdLate8669 and fellow players are frustrated with this change and want Bungie to revert it. Some players speculate that the collision boxes for Orbs of Power were altered because of the Shoot to Loot weapon trait. This trait originally only worked with ammo bricks but was updated in Season of the Deep to include Orbs of Power.

The recent change to Orbs of Power may be bothersome to some players, but Bungie is gathering feedback during Season of the Deep and may make adjustments accordingly. Orbs of Power play a vital role in Destiny 2's gameplay, so if fans continue to express their concerns, there may be another change in the future.

Fans can expect Bungie to discuss upcoming changes to Destiny 2 alongside the Final Shape expansion during its dedicated showcase on August 22. In just over a month, fans will have the opportunity to learn more about Cayde-6's return in the new Destiny 2 expansion, set to launch in 2024.
