President Fitzgerald Grant III and Olivia Pope, portrayed by Tony Goldwyn and Kerry Washington respectively, have made a triumphant return, showcasing their undeniable chemistry. The reunion of these beloved Scandal stars is made all the more special as they recreate their iconic "Hi" scene from the finale, accompanied by the emotive melody of "The Light" by The Album Leaf.
"Washington, 46, shared a video on September 27, captioned with "#Olitz is ready for you️." In the video, the actress strolls down a hallway and knocks on a door. When the door opens, Goldwyn, 63, is revealed, and the two exchange a quiet greeting before bursting into laughter.
Washington and Pope portrayed President Fitz and D.C. fixer Olivia on the hit show Scandal for a span of seven seasons, from 2012 to 2018. The character of Jake Ballard, played by Scott Foley, was later introduced during the series' second season, completing the love triangle."
Foley, 51, naturally shared his thoughts on his former costars reuniting.
"I just don't understand," he quipped in his comment on Washington's Instagram post, playfully referencing the fact that his character didn't end up with Olivia in the Scandal finale. (Apologies to all the Team Jake supporters.)

This past Wednesday, there was a reunion of the Scandal cast coinciding with the release of Washington's memoir, Thicker Than Water, on Tuesday, September 26. As part of her book tour in Washington, D.C., the actress invited Goldwyn to join her for a discussion at the Lisner Theater at George Washington University.
Despite their time on Scandal coming to an end, Washington and Goldwyn have managed to maintain a strong bond. In fact, Washington went all out to commemorate Goldwyn's birthday in May, sharing a heartfelt message on social media.
On Instagram, Kerry Washington shared her excitement about Tony Goldwyn's trending hashtag #Olitz on TikTok for his birthday. She also posted a photo showing his evident enthusiasm. In her birthday message, she expressed her immense love for Tony and sent him numerous kisses. Happy birthday Tony! We love you immensely! #ScandalFam.
Goldwyn, for his part, has spoken about Washington in various interviews over the years, even gushing over the “subliminal connection” between them.
