Vanderpump Rules OG Jax Taylor wants to keep some of his former costars from being part of his new show, The Valley.

On his podcast "When Reality Hits" on Friday, May 10, Jax, 44, talked to his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright about who she would like to see on season 2 of their popular Bravo series.

Before Brittany, 35, could respond, Jax quickly shut down her mentioning their former costars. He made it clear that he didn't think anyone from Vanderpump Rules needed to be brought over.

Brittany, who became a part of Vanderpump Rules during season 4 when she began dating Jax, had a different opinion. She mentioned that Scheana Shay and Lala Kent are her closest friends outside of their group.

Jax stood his ground amidst swirling rumors about Vanderpump Rules possibly taking a break before filming season 12. He clarified, "I'm not trying to turn this into Vanderpump Rules. Right now, that's a definite no. A hard no. But who knows, things could change. If we throw parties, then sure."

He added, "But let's be clear, this is The Valley, not a spin-off of Vanderpump Rules. I'm really proud of our show, and it wouldn't be fair to our cast members who have put in so much effort just to attract viewers."

Jax was one of the first cast members when Vanderpump Rules started in 2013. In 2020, they announced that they were leaving the show.

After stepping away from the public eye for a while, Jax and Brittany, who have a 3-year-old son named Cruz, joined forces with former Vanderpump OG Kristen Doute on The Valley. This spinoff series also features new faces like Michelle Lally, Jesse Lally, Danny Booko, Nia Booko, Jason Caperna, Jasmine Goode, and Zack Wickham.

Brittany mentioned on their podcast in February that there is still a lot of drama in their lives. Jax added that he initially thought there would be less drama when they started the show, but it seems like there is even more drama now than there was on Vanderpump.

Although The Valley has been successful and will be back for another season, Vanderpump Rules will be taking a break before filming season 12. This news was reported by multiple outlets last month.

Lala, 33, is being talked about as a potential star on The Valley, a spin-off of VPR. Recently, Lala addressed the rumors on her podcast.

"We're currently not filming. And just to clarify, I'm actually quite happy about it," Lala shared on the latest episode of her "Give Them Lala" podcast. She mentioned seeing an article about her supposedly joining The Valley and clarified that she is not.

Lala clarified that she currently has no intention of joining The Valley officially. She explained that she purchased a house in the valley simply because it was within her budget. In a light-hearted manner, she mentioned that she would have preferred to live in the Beverly Hills Flats but couldn't afford it at the moment. Moving to the valley was solely a decision based on affordability, not a strategic move to be part of The Valley.

The Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion will be airing on Bravo on Tuesday, May 14th at 8 p.m. ET. Following that, The Valley will air on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. If you miss any episodes, you can catch them on Peacock the next day for streaming.
