Jax Taylor, 44, weighed in on whether Raquel Leviss, his former Vanderpump Rules costar, should come back for the show's 11th season after her involvement with Tom Sandoval. Taylor adamantly stated, "No, absolutely not. No," during an exclusive interview with We on July 11. He was promoting his collaboration with Xyon Health and emphasized that reality TV is not beneficial for anyone's wellbeing.
Leviss' future on the Bravo reality series is uncertain after her involvement in an affair with castmate Sandoval. The fallout from their actions has caused tension with the rest of the Pump Rules cast, leading to a strained relationship at the end of season 10. News broke in March that Sandoval had cheated on his girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, with Leviss. In response to the backlash from fans and castmates, Leviss sought treatment at a mental health facility in April.
According to an exclusive source, Leviss had plans to leave the facility last month. Another source later confirmed that she is currently in discussions about returning for the next season of Vanderpump Rules. However, she has not yet made a decision on whether or not she wants to come back to the show.
Taylor, on the other hand, is well aware of the negative atmosphere in reality TV. He had spent eight years on Pump Rules before leaving the series in December 2020 along with his wife, Brittany Cartwright. He confessed that being in this industry requires a strong mindset and resilience. Taylor believes that Raquel may have underestimated the challenges that come with being on the show as she lacks the mental toughness needed for it.
Although Taylor has only had a few interactions with Leviss, he genuinely wishes the best for her. However, he does not sympathize with anyone on the show when it comes to the dramatic events that unfold on the television screen.
"We entered this game as a unified force," Taylor clarified, referring to herself and Cartwright, who have a 2-year-old son, Cruz. "We each understand our roles and responsibilities. We willingly committed ourselves to this endeavor. I feel no sympathy for anyone involved. This is the path we consciously chose. Now it's time to embrace it wholeheartedly."
Taylor never anticipated that the scandal involving Leviss and Sandoval's affair, famously known as "Scandoval," would gain such widespread attention. He believes that Sandoval's response to the scandal has contributed to its significant public interest.
“He had a bit of a diva mentality,” the former Bravo star revealed. "He believed he could get away with actions like this, which is why it has garnered so much attention and has been ongoing for a significant period of time. It's not just a simple mistake or fling. This has been happening for quite a while."
Although Sandoval apologized to Madix and his supporters, it was later disclosed that his intense romance with Leviss commenced in August 2022 when they shared their first kiss at Sandoval and Madix's residence. (Meanwhile, Madix has found new love with Daniel Wai.)
Taylor continued, blaming Sandoval's actions on a lack of empathy. He criticized the way Sandoval and his team have discussed the situation, describing it as tone-deaf. Although Taylor has not confirmed his return to Pump Rules, he recently hinted at the possibility in an interview with Us. Currently, he is dedicating his efforts to promoting hair loss awareness through his partnership with Xyon Health.
"I was contemplating which path to take, and this option is definitely the most suitable for me at present," he expressed regarding his experience with hair loss. "I identified it early on. It wasn't like, 'Oh my goodness, I'm completely bald on top.' Instead, I noticed some thinning."
Taylor shared his newfound optimism about his hair's future after using the brand's latest shampoo and conditioner. "Hair loss happens to everyone, and we are fortunate to have excellent products available in the world today," he conveyed to Us. "This partnership with these individuals is fantastic, and I am eagerly anticipating what the future holds with them."
