Jax Taylor provided more insights into his ongoing feud with Katie Maloney during his recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
In Taylor's opinion, Katie's behavior towards his wife, Brittany Cartwright, is unjustified as it stems from their absence at Stassi Schroeder's wedding. He believes that Katie is merely acting in accordance with Stassi's wishes and therefore refers to her as a puppet. Andy Cohen posed the question to Taylor, asking if he thought Katie was indeed under Stassi's influence, to which Taylor nodded in agreement.
Schroeder, aged 35, and Taylor were original cast members of Vanderpump Rules when it first aired in 2013. Their relationship had its ups and downs throughout the years, and was a major storyline in the early seasons of the popular Bravo series. Schroeder and fellow cast member Kristen Doute were let go from the show in 2020, which was also the year Taylor and Cartwright, aged 34, announced their departures.
After breaking up with Taylor, Schroeder moved on and is now married to Beau Clark. They have two children together, daughter Hartford aged 2, and son Messer aged 2 months. As for Taylor, he found love with Cartwright and the two got married in 2019. They have a son named Cruz, aged 2, together.
Rumors of a feud between the former costars emerged shortly after Schroeder and Clark tied the knot in Italy in May 2022. Addressing the suspected falling out, Schroeder spoke up on her podcast "The Good the Bad The Baby," revealing that while they pretended to be coming to the wedding, Clark had actually been texting Beau's best friend, saying they would not be attending. According to Schroeder, this betrayal and talking negatively about the wedding behind their backs goes against the principles of true friendship.

She expressed, "Right before I embarked on the book tour, just two weeks prior to our wedding, I felt compelled to confront this issue with them because I refuse to play this game. I took the initiative to make all the necessary arrangements for seat assignments and place cards. That aspect has already been taken care of. Consequently, I require prompt clarification regarding the need for potential adjustments. It involves more than simply removing two individuals."
In June 2022, during the "Betches Moms" podcast, Cartwright countered claims that she and her husband canceled the plans at the last minute. She clarified that they had legitimate reasons, such as Cruz's delayed passport and her mother's family tragedy, which necessitated her return home. She expressed her commitment to being present up until the final moments.
Schroeder expressed earlier this year that she was not eager to forget the past. "At times, I do miss them. They greatly hurt me and it feels like I can no longer trust them," she shared while cohosting a June episode of the "The Toast" podcast. "Although I have moved on, it does not mean I have to become close friends with these individuals again."
The author of "Next Level Basic" acknowledged that the lack of communication was what bothered her the most. She added, "I gave them the chance to back out, but they didn't. Then, as I was boarding the plane, Brittany sent me a text. That made it even more hurtful. It was a significant factor in why it hurt so much. I had to exclude family members and many others who I would have loved to have there. So, they took up two spots."
The drama has created a rift within their circle of friends. Maloney, who was Schroeder’s maid of honor, immediately took the side of her close friend, prompting Taylor to publicly criticize Maloney earlier this month.
Speaking at an event on Monday, October 9, Taylor shared, "She's been unkind to my wife. They haven't spoken or returned calls in a long time. Despite being involved in our gender reveal party and being in our wedding." Taylor also expressed his belief that Maloney's ego has gotten out of control, suggesting she is riding on the coattails of Ariana Madix.
A Bravo fan account later reported that they had received a message from Maloney concerning the footage of Taylor's appearance. Maloney denied the claim, stating, "Lol Brittany hasn't contacted me. I also saw her on Scheana [Shay]'s birthday and we were on good terms. I don't treat her poorly."
Upon seeing screenshots of Maloney's response circulating on social media, Taylor swiftly replied. "That's not true...you are unkind to my wife...she has done nothing to you except be your friend," he commented on the fan account's post. "That's a lie, we need evidence! I can also share evidence of you calling..."
Taylor confessed during Thursday's episode of WWHL that he remains hopeful for reconciliation with everyone.
"I really want to repair my friendship with Stassi and Beau. I'm putting in effort. It's clear that not attending their wedding is still a point of contention for them," he explained. "It genuinely hurts me because I care so deeply about them and I truly wish we could be friends again. I have so much love for both of them, but they really took it personally that we didn't attend their wedding."
