Gerry Turner, the Golden Bachelor, and his fiancé Theresa Nist have plenty of reasons to celebrate this holiday season. "It's going to be a very Gerry Christmas with Theresa and our blended family," wrote the 72-year-old on his Instagram on Saturday, December 9th.
Theresa, 70, is pictured posing with her daughter, Jen Woolston, daughter-in-law, Amanda Nist, and Gerry’s two daughters, Jenny Young and Angie Turner. The women are all seen on a staircase, with the younger generation wearing red sweatshirts that read “A Very Gerry Christmas,” while Theresa’s sweatshirt is pink.
This post follows the historic engagement of Gerry and Theresa, who became the first Golden Bachelor couple to get engaged during the season 1 finale. During the After the Final Rose special, the pair also revealed their plans for a televised Golden Wedding via ABC on Thursday, January 4.
The couple's eagerness to marry quickly is due in part to their age. Gerry clarified on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast in November, "We're old! Think about it this way: You can wait a year in your 20s because that might be 3 percent of your remaining life. When you’re in your 70s, a year could be 10 or 20 percent of the time you have left."

Gerry also mentioned that he and the New Jersey native didn't want to delay something they truly believed was the right decision. Theresa added that the couple intends to begin their life together in the Charleston, South Carolina area just outside of it.
"For the last two years, he's had this idea and no one knew about it,” Theresa remarked. “Everyone was asking, 'Are you moving to Indiana?' But I wasn’t going to Indiana. I have a son and a daughter and I live just four minutes away from my daughter and grandsons, and my son lives in South Carolina."

Just before the couple's happy ending, The Hollywood Reporter published a report alleging that Gerry had dated several women since the 2017 death of his first wife, Toni. One of the women mentioned in the article, referred to as Carolyn, accused Gerry of fat-shaming her. When asked about the report by The Los Angeles Times in November, Turner responded with, "My only response is that I have so many positive things in my life right now. I have the wonderful love of Theresa, my partner. I don't have time to reflect on comments like this. I'm happy to look forward."
